Short refinement video to support Lesson 1
I’ve have added a short 1-minute refinement video to support Lesson 1. To find the Lesson first click on 'Classroom' then 'Yang Style' then Lesson 1.1, or click on the link in the comments. This isn’t a new lesson - it simply highlights a couple of small details that often get missed the first time through. Think of it as a gentle reminder rather than something extra to learn. As always, take what’s useful and leave the rest. Small refinements, over time, make a big difference. Enjoy your practice Stephen

Thank you
Lesson 1 is live!
I’ve just uploaded the first video: Standing, Weight Shifting & Stepping. These can be viewed in the Classroom. This lesson lays the foundations for everything that follows. The movements are simple, but there’s a lot going on underneath, so take your time with it and feel free to return to it often. There’s no need to rush or try to perfect anything - just explore and notice what you feel. Going forward, I’ll be posting: - A new lesson every Tuesday - A short recap/refresher video each week The idea is to give you something steady and manageable to work with, and a chance to revisit key points without overload. If you have questions, notice something interesting, or feel a bit stuck - that’s all part of the process. Feel free to share or ask in the comments. You can click on Classroom to find the lessons, or this link: https://www.skool.com/the-traditional-tai-chi-method-8085/classroom/b90d9f80?md=72c80027af964506a0e0039c1a455531 Glad to have you here and practicing together. Thankyou . It's good to be reminded of the basics, and just to slow down.
What Brought You to Tai Chi?
If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d love to know what brought you here. You might be: - Feeling stiff or tense - Looking for a calmer way to move - Curious about traditional martial Tai Chi - Returning to practice after a break There’s no right or wrong reason. Simply leave a short comment below. Reading each other’s experiences helps shape this community.

I've been doing bits of Tai chi chi Kung since the mid 1990s, with Rainbow Tai chi, which gave me a simple introduction into working with my body slowly. I had bad circulation in my hands and feet with suffering with Raynaud's syndrome. I picked up a book called the Way of Energy by master Lam Kam Chuen, and worked with that by myself after that. I did a bit of short form Tai chi with an instructor in Devon school of Tai Chi, just before I became pregnant with my first child in 2007, and since then I haven't had any formal teaching until I joined a American kenpo karate with my kids, about 2 years ago. My instructor is a 9th Dan and does Systema as well . I find he has a good understanding that suits my needs. Hes also great with the children too, very helpful and fun. Im hoping to continue a deeper approach to learning Tai chi and bring that into my Karate discipline, for my body awareness and healing.

@Louise Woodford I think having children has helped a lot with my circulation too, as women have increased blood system. Taking that into account too, I do feel I have benefited with an improved posture, and a greater sense of what is going on in my body. The improved circulation is a result of my body systems coming into alignment
