Just not my week!
So disappointing! This is my stoned denim which is very stable so I assume it’s from the carving???? It was a gift! Ugh! Back to the grind…literally!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Oh yes, it is always the little things that set you back when you think you are doing well. Then you get a reminder, „no, no, no, no, no. You have not fully understood it yet“ we keep going and keep learning. In a way, all of this pottery protects us from becoming overconfident and keeps us grounded.🙈🙈🙈
Some places hold pieces of our lives 💜
Today was a completely last-minute decision… and somehow turned into one of those days that stays with you 💜 I live in the UK, and like most of us here, I’m very good at moaning about the weather 😅 The rain, the grey skies, the cold… But honestly? I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Today my husband and I decided to take our Rhodesian Ridgeback Kaiser for a walk at Kinver Edge, a beautiful National Trust spot on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire border. My husband grew up there—it was his childhood playground. We got married in Kinver Church nearby, walked those hills when we were courting, later with our two little boys, and with dogs we’ve loved over the years. We then moved away for many years and only came back to the area about five years ago. Even though we now only live around 30 minutes away, somehow we hadn’t been back to Kinver Edge for far too long. The moment we arrived, the memories came flooding back. The bluebells were out, the sunshine was warm (a rare UK miracle 😂), and the views across the English countryside honestly took my breath away. Kinver village sitting amongst the rolling hills looked just as magical as I remembered. For two precious hours, life slowed down. We reminisced about being 18 and falling in love, marrying young, raising our boys, building a life together… and quietly reflected on the fact we both came through cancer after a very challenging couple of years. Last year we celebrated 40 years of marriage. Today just felt… special. Really special. One of those moments where you suddenly feel incredibly grateful for ordinary things that actually aren’t ordinary at all. And to finish the morning, we stumbled across a newly built farm shop café and had the most beautiful breakfast and coffee together 💜 Life can absolutely be challenging. But it’s also full of rewards and beautiful moments—you sometimes just have to pause long enough to notice them. 💜 It made me wonder…Do you have a place that holds special memories for you?

Thank you for sharing this memory, this place and this story with us. It makes me reflect a little on whether the future I always imagined, which no longer exists in the same way, will still be shaped by so much gratitude and by a focus on the simple and essential things. You have overcome your challenges together. It is time to fully enjoy these moments. Feel hugged. 🤍
I’ve missed you all!
Hi everyone! I haven’t been on Skool the last few weeks. Being on holidays, then jet lag and life have kept me away as time was limited. And I’ve been missing you all and your news! So I thought maybe you could tell me one interesting thing you have been doing/making in the last few weeks, PLUS mention another pottery person who has done something you found interesting! Links welcome! That way I can get a quick overview of what all you lovely people have been doing! 😃

Using AI for repairs and creative ideas
I am so happy I finally found this group! I was fortunate to be given a large 22 year old large, Cress kiln and a pottery wheel along with all the tools to go with it two years ago after my friend's dad had passed. I had no idea what the kiln would do, but since I knew it had been fired once a year. I took a chance and hit the start button on my first bisque load and it all did fine.. then moved to glaze fire and all went fine..but then it started to overfire each load. I had nobody here to ask. I named my kiln lovingly Mr. Doubtfire from that point on, and just watched cones from the peeps and stopped the fire. Cone 6 was falling at Cone 3 setting. Then it underfired one day and I knew it was way overdue to replace all the parts and coils.. with AI help we did. I'm at the point, I want to create different and unique ceramics. I don't sell a whole lot here where I live, and have not branched to online sales yet, but I am way overstocked with pottery. Now I am using AI for glaze combos and artistic idea feedback with some interesting results. Just wondering if anyone else uses AI for inspiration?

@Andrea MacLeod I Write it in German and let it translate for the description. That’s very helpful.
