I’m enjoying the onboarding course and learning much. The Skool community provides a different way of learning and I appreciate that. Sometimes I have a hard time getting to these though, due to a busy schedule and life happening. I do what I can, when I can!

August 18 - Dream My Child, Dream ... (from the pages of Honorary Indian)
Close your eyes and picture your life Dream my child, dream. Not in silhouette but colour Dream my child, dream. Paint the landscape, melody too Dream my child, dream. Populate the scenario Dream my child, dream. Enjoy the life that you design Dream my child, dream. Live it, breathe it, hold on tight Dream my child, dream. It’s up to you so, paint it bright Dream my child, dream. Reach for the stars for it will be Dream my child, dream. Never forget that it will be Dream my child, dream. It’s up to you so paint it bright Dream my child, dream.

Aug 17 - The Condemners
Do you ever wonder about the condemners? You know, those people who sit in judgment of all those around them. They critique all that we do and say and are more than willing to share their snide comments or backhanded insults with anyone unfortunate enough to be within their ear shot. I think of them often and I pity them. After all, it is much easier to tear apart my life than to spend time examining, refining, and/or improving their own. I find it sad that they would make assumptions about me or my actions when they could so easily just ask me, and thereby gain truth rather than illusion. But inquiry takes effort. Solving someone else’s problems, even before they ask, is so much easier than exploring their own flaws or accepting and acknowledging that their mistakes were of their own making. The ones I prefer to spend time with are not judges. They are the strong ones who meekly say, “I was wrong, forgive me”. They are flawed and accepting of their shortcomings. They realize perfection is unattainable, but that the journey towards it and the act of fine- tuning our own beings is so worth the effort and time required. So, tell me of your flaws, ask me for guidance, and I will have all day to converse with you. But do not judge another or their choices. For as I so often say, can we truly, without hesitation, say we would have acted any differently if we had lived their lives, if we had walked a mile in their moccasins? The journey continues …

Not so much blame as honouring my mom’s wishes for our family. I am getting close to cutting all ties while still hoping things change. It’s a process for sure!

I’m from Airdrie AB (just north of Calgary) in Treaty 7 Territory and the Metis Nation of Alberta. I’ve been following Sandi for a while and always learn so much. Happy to be here and currently taking her onboard program. Looking forward to connecting with others too.
