@Diane Thomas Hi Diane, the markings on your sewing machine will be accurate, normally 1cm (3/8") and 1.5cm (5/8") Most of today's patterns have the seem allowance factored into the pattern. They will state so if not. Pattern seams are mainly 1.5cm (5/8 inch) unless the pattern stipulates 1cm (3/8inch). Always very important tovread the pattern instructions. Christine has so much available in this course that will answer your questions and give you confidence to happily sew clothes!

Hi Maria, I do occasionally buy on line, I read the description in detail but honestly I prefer to go into a shop and see/feel the fabric, check how badly it creases, how much stretch it has and if I really like it in real life. My on line experience has been good enough, a couple of pieces weren't the quality I would have bought in the shop, but not a waste as it can be used on projects with a backing like vilene etc. Good luck I hope you can find what you are looking for.

Hi Maryam, welcome to the group, I hope you will have a lot of fun sewing all the projects and getting to know the lovely members. The more you participate through comments, sharing ideas and posting about your projects, the quicker you will move up levels and open up all the projects and information. The more you like others posts, (even when they only say thank you to someone else), the more you help them to rise up the levels, commenting on their posts helps both of you! It is great fun helping and watching others move up the levels. Have fun, browse through the posts and see all the awesome creations that have been made and fears conquered, like zips! 😃😊 If you click on classroom at the top of the page you will find start here where you can read all about the how to! Enjoy 😉

Yesterday's doings
Yesterday evening I decided to sew these pencil pouches just to complete my day and feed my soul. I picked it from my cut and store container. The one zipper pull is on the wrong end. I always make such stupid mistakes.
