New woodworker sets up small workshop
Just setting up my small workshop area and looking for any suggestions. The area is in my basement which also houses a gas water heater and HVAC unit. Due to safely concerns related to the gas heater I have installed 6mil plastic to separate that area, which also houses the HVAC, from the wood working area. I have also installed the WREN 3410 air filtration system. Check out the photos and please don't hesitate to share your thoughts!

Show Us Your Latest Tool (Win $100!)
This week’s challenge is easy: share the last woodworking tool or accessory you picked up. Big or small—everything counts. How to join: 📸 Post a photo of your most recent purchase in the group. It could be a new clamp, a chisel upgrade, or even something simple that’s made your shop better. Feel free to share any details or a story about why you bought it or how it’s working out so far. We'll choose a winner by July 20. This week's prize is a $100 gift card you can use to buy tools on the Sawinery website! Looking forward to seeing your latest finds—maybe we’ll all get a little inspired. 😊

Just getting started in wood working. My background as a "maker" has been electronics and 3rd printing. I am going down the commonly followed road of reclaimed wood as I develop my skills, which lowers the cost and doesn't hurt has much when I screw up! I recently picked up this pneumatic nail remover to get nails out of pallet wood! Works great. I suggest you place a few towels under it to catch the nails as they come out with high speed!
