Happy to have found this
Good morning. Name is Vick and I've been looking for a community for some time. Happy to be here. My grandfather was a construction worker and I used to help him out when I was a kid. That's right: child labor! 🤣 I don't think anyone else in the family has taken up woodworking so I am the first. My father said to me "Learn to do one thing extremely well. For everything else you can pay." Well, I got tired of paying for shoddy work. Bought a new house 13 years ago and have been learning and modding ever since.

Hi Victor! Welcome to the group! ☺️
Howdy
I am David, and after helping my father with his utility wood projects when I was young, I have decided to get into woodworking. Since he has passed, I am stating from ground zero. However, all of my work life, I have been in the problem solving business. So I am glad to join and look forward in sharing knowledge with all.

Hi David, welcome to the group! 😄
🧰 What’s Your Least Used Tool (but You Still Keep Around)? (Win $100 Gift Card!)
We all have that one tool collecting dust — the “I might need it someday” special. Maybe it’s sentimental, or maybe it just looks too good to get rid of. 👉 This week’s challenge: Create a new post showing (or describing) the tool you hardly ever use but still keep in your shop, and tell us why it stays. How to participate: • Create a NEW POST (please don’t comment on this thread) • Share the tool and your reason for keeping it • A photo is welcome, but not required 🏆 Prize: $100 Sawinery Gift Card (for something you’ll actually use 😉) 📅 Winner announced on January 5! 📍 Open to U.S. customers only (for now). We’re working on making them available in more locations soon! Comments on this post are turned off — entries must be posted in the community to be counted. P.S. Bonus points if you comment on other members’ challenge posts as well!

🎉 Challenge Winner Announcement! 🎉
Congratulations to @Bruce Early, winner of our “What’s Your Least Used Tool (But You Still Keep Around)?” challenge! 🏆 He’s taking home a $100 Sawinery Gift Card! Thank you to everyone who shared the tools collecting a bit of dust but still earning a permanent spot in the shop. Those stories were equal parts practical and nostalgic.
