Guitar Workout of the Day 1 (G-WOD 1)
***FULL PRACTICE SESSION INSIDE*** For the rest of the month of March - to go along with our March Challenge I’m going to post a Guitar Workout of the Day (G-WOD) These are designed to give you something to work on to move toward playing the song(s) for this month’s challenge. You can play them exactly as they are written, modify them to be more difficult, or simplify them if they are difficult. To keep it accessible these workouts will be 10-15 minutes, leaving time at the end of a 20 minute practice session to work on play through the whole song or work on something else. You’ll need 6 things to do the G-WOD - Guitar - Pick - Tuner - Phone/Computer with internet connection - Egg Timer - Metronome To gain points and ‘complete action’ comment on this post and let everyone know how it went! G-WOD 1 Horse With No Name 2 minutes - spider exercise - https://youtu.be/YPzqq40I2h8?si=KtDzpZdKufllBTjr&t=124 6 Minutes Strum pattern 1 from “Horse With No Name” - Em Chord - Every Minute On The Minute increase the tempo by 8 BPM - Start at 60 BPM, unless you feel ultra comfortable at a faster tempo - https://youtu.be/LUiJy6nIFcQ?si=hRSEm455nrJApeEF&t=170 6 Minutes Strum pattern 1 from “Horse With No Name” - Horse Chord - Every Minute On The Minute increase the tempo by 8 BPM - Start at 60 BPM, unless you feel ultra comfortable at a faster tempo - https://youtu.be/LUiJy6nIFcQ?si=uPysXZccmFqNJNiQ&t=207

Now I am starting to understand the brilliance of your approach to guitar. The absolute structure of each step in your process is becoming more clear. I was jumping from one you tube lesson to the next with no thought of the eventual outcome I wanted. Genius!! I’m really impressed.
I’m confused
I just joined the group and I’m confused about how to get started. Is there new content every day? Is there a library of content that I work my way through and if so how do I find it? If you could help me get started I will be forever grateful !

Thanks Phil ! Sounds like you are making great progress, playing Neil Young already. Appreciate the help.

I’m 4 years into learning guitar. Still a beginner but able to play open chords and a few songs. I love the thought of being fluent.
