PTSD stories
I am a retired and disabled Veteran. Lately I have written a few stories that focuses on soldiers dealing with PTSD. My question is how do I promote them without missing my target audience? To be clear they are regular stories that happen to have Vets doing Vet things.

@Rich Gomez I just talked to the lady who draws my blood at the Dr. She told me that one of my books about PTSD, helped her and her family dealing with losing her brother to it. He didn't open up and it ended up consuming him. Dying being too proud to seek help.
Should I do Audio on my books?
I have a lot of people who ask if my books are available to be listened to. Should I invest the time and money to make them into Audio books?

Weekly Discussion: What’s your #1 author goal for 2026?
New year, fresh momentum. 🎉Let’s set the tone for 2026 together. What’s the one thing you want to accomplish in your author journey this year? It could be big or small: Finish your first draft, publish your book, start (or grow) your email list, get more reviews, sell more books, etc. Drop your goal in the comments — and if you know it, share your next step too (even if it’s a small one). Chances are, someone here has the same goal… and we can all help each other stay on track this year. 🤝📚

I want to do a few book signings and find a way to buy more of my books to resale. I have 92 various themed books. Hard to self promote without moola. My 2 podcasts don't offer much income

@Shane Vigeant thanks for the idea. I guess I need to decide if I want to do this full time and with more effort. Hard to commit fully.
Cover vs Content
What is the priority of designing the world's best cover when so many are choosing to buy on line after they have already decided to purchase?

My thought about book covers that they need to be bright and colorful. I have done both drab and dark. Most sales are from the cheerful editions.
The Friends & Family Rule for Amazon Reviews
Do you know that Amazon says that you can't get reviews from people who are PERCEIVED to have a relationship with you? That means we're not just talking about people who live in your house or even work under the same roof. In this video I break down what this means for authors trying to get reviews that stick for their book.

Yes. Good info. Really seems that it's stacked against the self publisher. The big outlets can operate differently.
