Saturday Scene Study 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟭 𝗮.𝗺. 𝗕𝗦𝗧 Put yourself forward today! Partner up with @Berthe Tanwo Njole - Enter your name in comments below today. Something new has landed in the Green Room, and we're really excited about this one. Claire and I will be running a 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 once a month on a Saturday, with four of you centre stage. The first four actors to put themselves forward will be paired off into two scenes, with a few surprises thrown in along the way. 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗜𝗧 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗦 Each pair will be sent a scene. Treat it exactly as you would a real audition: break it down, make your choices, rehearse it, and know your lines. Then on the day you'll perform it live with your scene partner and receive direct, honest, constructive feedback from Claire and me. Just like a real audition, you won't rehearse with your scene partner beforehand. You'll meet the scene together for the first time on the day, so come ready to listen, stay present, and play off whatever they give you. 𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗦𝗘𝗧𝗨𝗣 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 Before the session, head to the 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗧𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗞𝗶𝘁 in the Classroom. Get your framing, lighting, and sound set up as well as you can. How you present yourself on screen is part of an audition, so treat it that way. 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚? 𝗬𝗢𝗨'𝗥𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗠𝗨𝗖𝗛 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗜𝗧. These sessions are open to every member to watch. Some of the biggest lessons in acting come from watching other actors work: seeing the choices they make, hearing the notes, and watching a scene shift when a note lands. You'll leave with things you can take straight into your own next audition. 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨'𝗟𝗟 𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗜𝗧 • Real audition prep under real pressure, but no pressure as it's in a supportive room • Specific, actionable feedback from two working coaches • A chance to see how direction changes a performance in the moment • Ideas and insights to take into your own work, even from the sidelines 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗨𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 are a very real part of an actor’s journey. At some point, you have to be willing to step forward, take a risk and let yourself be seen.

I have a general question for you. Taking into account that you don't have a steady or large income from this industry, what job do you recommend, where the employer agrees to give time off for shooting days?
