Tips for retaining information
I really struggle to take in and remember information - this might be a bit of daft question with no answer but are there any strategies I can use to take in information better that I am being taught on the mat?

I find remembering things is a real struggle but the things I do are, use what I’ve learnt in class in rolls immediately to consolidate them in my mind, ignore some of the things that are inaccessible to me right now (crab ride is cool but useless if I’m stuck on bottom), and trying to stick to what I’m working on, don’t pull guard if I wanna work on passing etc…
The starting point of performing well on the mat and in your life
I want to encourage you to pause and think about your performance and what shapes it. If we continue breaking it down, you will realise something that is both liberating and scary: It all boils down to how we think and talk to ourselves. That's it. Improving your performance on and off the mat starts with the acceptance and ownership of it. To become a high performer you have to start working on your thoughts and self-talk.
