A Horse of a Different Color
Good morning gentlemen, I am sure that many of you as myself are in several of these communities that are basically under Real Men Real Style. I love being in them all but my favorite is RMRS. Don’t get me wrong I have learned and gained so much from them all but RMRS is the main one for me, Why? Well, Brotherhood of Scent is great to learn about fragrances, to read reviews, get others opinions, and great for finding deals. But I feel so limited about that aspect because I feel after that not much to say in there. Watch Lover, another great community where I have learned a lot about watches and the wide array of watches and never imagined that there are so many beautiful watches out there but how much time is time? But RMRS is a horse of a different color. We not only discuss styles, but accessories, events, lifestyles, and such an array of topics. I feel that I grow and learn every time I come into this community. We tackle and talk about things that we normally would not discuss in our work environment or even with friends and family, why? Because very few understand our plights and the journey that we are on. They see the changes but they do not quite know why or fully understand why we are who we are or striving to be who we are. This community is so strong of men that are the modern day Knights that believe in Honor, Chivalry, Respect, Dignity. We are in different countries, states, cities, communities, but we all have the same things in common and are willing to share with each other. I have seen men grow in here, I seen men share their personal experiences ( yesterday we talked pajamas) can’t get too much personal than that! But this community has so much more to offer for me and I value it greatly. The topics, opinions, styles, friendships, brotherhood, are endless. I have found motivation, encouragement, ideas, handy tips on shopping for clothes and accessories, do it yourself tips on maintenance and repair of clothing and accessories, and so much more. I hope that all of you value these communities a valuable resource as much as I do, and yes I am particularly grateful and partial to RMRS. What is you take on these communities? What is your favorite one and why?

I used to be in Watch Lovers but I was not really active in the group because it is such a narrow subject. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy a nice watch but since I wasn't very active, I left because I'm the kinda person that is 100% in or 100% out. There is no middle ground with me. I have stuck with RMRS because it has such a wide subject that I feel I can stay engaged with it. This group covers all aspects of style and started me on a lifelong journey of "stepping up my game".
Don’t Sell yourself short
Gentlemen, I want to share something with you. For the longest I had low self esteem which now looking back was why I had that non caring and not caring what others thought about me because I did not think much about myself. Thus led to the stepping away of the values that my parents and grandparents instilled in me, that opened that door for the world to tell me what they wanted me to be. I know now that this mindset hindered me in so many aspects of my life. It cost me jobs, promotions, relationships, business growth, and all of my own volition. Do not sell yourself short because that is how the world, and people around you will respond. The way people treat you is a reflection of how they see you. The way you let them treat you is a reflection of how you see yourself. You were not created to be a doormat for people, society, and the world to step on and clean their feet on. Create and be the best version of you and not a duplicate of others.

So true......
To Carry or Not to Carry
Good late morning gentlemen, i am wandering how many of you gentlemen carry a handkerchiefs? I was raised to always carry one when I was growing up yes we had tissues then, ( No I was not around during the out house era). But I was raised to always carry if you needed one. But as I got older I ditched the concept thinking that I don’t need one. But I have had more times when I needed one but did not have one. Now granted the so called carrying one is not to blow your nose on it , if you need to but to have one on hand if needed to wipe some up, give to a lady, etc. But honestly there has been times that I need one because of sinuses and was not around or had access to Kleenex and I was on the verge of embarrassment. So I started carrying one years ago and this was before my gentleman transformation. Now for some of you we are not talking pocket squares, that is something totally different. Handkerchiefs are for putting in your pocket to have in case of an emergency, such as handing one to a lady, of maybe you spilled something on you liquid, you can use to clean it up immediately. Now you can buy them in packets for little to nothing I personally have over 50 handkerchiefs in my collection. Now some are more expensive, some are monogrammed, and some are what I call throw aways, meaning if I give it to a lady or a person in need I don’t expect it back especially if it is used or soiled. And I have so many of those it’s no big deal if I get it back. But now I carry two one nice for myself and one that if I need to give to someone and not expect it back I am okay with it. Kinda like I carry my good pens and I always have what I consider a throw away pen that if I lend it to someone and they walk off with it, or they need it longer than I am present I can say “ just keep it” and believe it or not that gesture speaks volumes, same it a handkerchief that i carry to give away if needed. So gentlemen do any of you carry a handkerchief in your EDC? If you how many do you have in your collection and do you have some more expensive ones that you carry?

@Anthony Buntyn very true. I have larger ones in my truck to make medical slings out of if needed. So many uses for them.
Safety Razor Update and a Question
So as some of you know, I started using a safety razor about a week ago. I had read that the blades that come with it were crap and after using them three times, I can agree. I think they did an ok job but just ok. They were Apache brand and I didn't think they were that sharp. I was told that it's natural to nick yourself the first few times while getting used to the razor but I never did. I just bought and got in a bunch of Astra blades and shaved for the first time with those today I ended up with several nicks which I guess that means that they are much sharper. I guess my question is since I wasn't getting nicks with the first blade brand and now I am, is that a good thing? I mean, I would suppose that I wasn't learning correctly because the old blade was not that sharp. Am I thinking about this correctly?
