How to Turn a Hobby into a Global, Profitable Community
Using Substack & Skool as a Leverage Pair There’s a quiet shift happening right now. People who once taught locally, casually, or “on the side” are realizing something powerful: their knowledge doesn’t have to stay small just because it started as a hobby. Crochet teachers. Piano instructors. Bakers. Artists. Stylists. Guitar players. What they all have in common isn’t the skill itself - it’s the moment they decide to bring it online with intention. And the magic happens when Substack and Skool work together. 🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶 Caroline & the Crochet Circle Caroline started by sharing what she loved: crochet. She didn’t begin with a big launch or a complicated funnel. She shared patterns, tips, encouragement, and progress. Over time, her consistency and clarity attracted the right people — not just followers, but learners. Inside the Crochet Circle community on Skool, that steady growth compounded. This year, Caroline earned her star, placing her in the top 1% of her niche. That didn’t happen because she chased virality. It happened because she: - Created value-first content - Showed up inside a community - Let trust build naturally - Gave people a place to belong 🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐🥐 Henry Hunter & Crust & Crumb Academy Henry didn’t set out to “build an online business.” He loved bread. Sourdough. Process. Craft. The satisfaction of creating something real with your hands. By sharing that passion publicly, then anchoring it inside Crust & Crumb Academy, he turned a deeply tactile, offline skill into a thriving global community of home bakers. People don’t just learn recipes. They learn together. That’s leverage. 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹 Rositsa & the Piano Community Rositsa teaches piano — something traditionally tied to one-on-one lessons in one place.

This is all so fascinating. There really is no limit to the power of our imagination. It's a question of application versus theory. I can't wait to dig in! Anyone who gets my GIF reference below, waive a shovel at me 😆

If you think you need a bigger audience... You probably don't. Most coaches and creators don't have a visibility problem. They have a foundation problem. Their publication isn't set up to turn readers into subscribers, subscribers into relationships, and relationships into paying clients. That's what this community is here to help you build. Whether you're brand new to Substack or you've been publishing for months, we'll help you create a publication that becomes an asset for your business instead of another place to post content. Step 1: Introduce Yourself 👋 Create your first post and tell us: ✨ Where you're from ✨ Who you help (or hope to help) ✨ Share your Substack if you have one ✨ What's your biggest challenge right now? We grow faster when we know each other. Step 2: Choose Your Starting Path 🛤️ 🚀 I already have a Substack Join today's Daily Notes Boost and start building relationships while getting more visibility. (Learn Substack🔥 · Share Your Substack Notes) 🌱 I'm brand new Begin with the Quick Start Guide. #Get Help ... 🎯 I want to make sure everything is set up correctly Join the Substack Setup Intensive where we'll build your publication together so every piece works toward attracting subscribers, clients, and opportunities. #🎯START HERE Step 3: Build Your Foundations 🏗️ Before chasing more visibility... Make sure your visibility has somewhere to go. Inside the classroom you'll learn how to build: ✅ A publication people trust ✅ A homepage that converts ✅ Welcome emails ✅ Subscriber journeys ✅ Paid subscriber strategy ✅ Client pathways Step 4: Join the Conversation 💬 The fastest-growing Substack publications aren't built by posting more. They're built by building more relationships. Join the Daily Notes Boost.

Getting Pinterest To Track on Skool Analytics
a quick hack to get Skool to tell you that lead came from Pinterest - https://skool.com/you-world-order?ref=YOURCODE&utm_source=pinterest&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=board_name&utm_content=pin_name The important part is the ? right after your skool url. Then if you're referring to another group add your affiliate link (it's always the same no matter what the community) and then add the & sign stuff. If you're not referring to another group it will look like this ?utm_source=pinterest&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=board_name&utm_content=pin_name you will need to change up/add your "board_name" and "pin_name" This might take an extra couple minute to do when creating pins but will give you a lot of data about what's working and not Important tip - do not add any spaces - I know it looks like there are spaces but there are not. I shared this in the Pinterest Skool community - but thought I'd share it here too as you can tag your Substack posts the same way (well not with the community url) but with the source, pin & board tags. 📌pin this post to your Skool Marketing Board
