"Isn't juicing/blending a food-altering process like cooking food?"
Someone asked me this question today, so I thought I'd share my thoughts... Juicing and blending may be a type of "process" but it does not alter the food itself. It's completely different than cooking. Cooking draws out water, destroys most vitamins and nutrients, and kills all enzymes which help us break down food. The most natural way to consume fruits is to eat them whole, but we have to remember we live in an extremely unnatural world! It takes having tools like a juicer to help us overcome the severe damage a SAD diet has caused. Some people are at a stage where they cannot even digest food at all without severe pain, and juicing is the only way they can begin to heal and clean out their gut. Ultimately juicers and blenders are TOOLS that can help us overcome food addictions, make healthier meals, and heal our bodies. I personally think they are amazing and make life and eating more fun!

Smoothies are key for me. I couldn’t eat enough otherwise. Also our food is not ripe so it doesn’t taste good most the time. But smoothies taste good to me.

@Valerie OBrien I add spinach to my smoothies all the time. Leafy greens are very healing!
Alfredo Zoodle Pasta
This raw dish is soo yummy and creamy! I used to love creamy pastas back in the day, so this satisfies my cravings without compromising my health, and leaving me feeling bloated and heavy after. It uses simple, affordable ingredients you can find anywhere, and can be made in 10 mins or less. Base: 5 spiralised zucchini's Sauce: 1 cup raw cashews (soaked) 1/2 cup sunflower seeds (soaked) 1 tbsp nutritional yeast 1 tsp garlic powder Juice of 1 lemon Dash of salt Water to blend Instructions: 1. Soak the cashews and sunflower seeds for 2-3 hours (you can use boiling water as well as a quick way to soften them. Soaking makes them easier to digest) 2. Wash, peel and spiralise the zucchinis 3. Rinse the soaked nuts and seeds. Add them to a high-speed blender with all remaining sauce ingredients. Blend until smooth and creamy. Add a little water to reach your desired consistency. 4. Pour sauce over prepared zoodles and mix well. Top with fresh parsley. Serve and enjoy! Let me know if you try this 😍
