Raw in winter?
It's nearly winter here in Aus, and it's reminding me of how much I used to struggle when it got cold. I struggled because 1. I was new to it and 2. Because I was not properly prepared or approaching it right. Most people don’t fail at raw because it’s winter, they fail because they don't do anything differently when the season changes. There's actually so many things you can do to work around it... - Use a hot water bottle/heat bag - Drink herbal teas - Eat fruits and veggies at room temp (take them out of the fridge before eating so they warm up. Thaw frozen fruit before adding them to your smoothies) - Eat in the sun - Stay active and move your body lots - Make meals with comforting textures (like creamy and dense) or make more gourmet raw dishes that have more density to them - Make raw treats to eat at night - Wear lots of warm clothing and use cosy throws and blankets when you're sitting still - Drink a hot cup of cacao or carob powder - Eat enough calories (in winter you need more cals) - Use warming spices like ginger, turmeric, cumin in your recipes This applies to living in a cold climate as well 🥶

@Lisa Davidsohn that sounds very challenging, I can understand why you would go back. It takes mental strength too and determination, but it helps to have tricks like these up your sleeve too.
Welcome (Start here 💚 Please Read! 👀)
Welcome to the Go Raw Club Community. I'm so happy you're ready to take ownership of your health and explore a more natural way of eating. Discovering the raw/fruitarian lifestyle changed my life, and I know it will change yours too! I have cleared my skin, completely healed my digestion, my sinus issues, chronic fatigue + much more. It can be a very lonely journey once you start embracing a raw food lifestyle, so this community is here to help you feel supported, understood, and motivated to stick with it. If you don't already know what to expect from raw foods, you're in for a treat! Some of the many benefits are age reversal, clear skin, improved digestion, increased energy and vitality, clearer thinking, more happiness, self-confidence, weight loss and hydration at a cellular level. This does not even touch the mental and spiritual benefits either :) So to start, take a moment to introduce yourself using this template below: 1. Where in the world are you? 2. How did you learn about raw foods? 3. What goals would you like to achieve on your health journey? 4. What do you do for fun? Best practices in this community: 1) Have a profile photo 2) Welcome new members 3) Engage with the community (make helpful posts, share your wins, and ask questions in the feed) Group Rules: 1) No self promotion 2) No spamming the community feed 3) No bullying/harrassment

Alfredo Zoodle Pasta 🥒🍝
This raw dish is soo yummy and creamy! I used to love creamy pastas back in the day, so this satisfies my cravings without compromising my health, and leaving me feeling bloated and heavy after. It uses simple, affordable ingredients you can find anywhere, and can be made in 10 mins or less. Base: 5 spiralised zucchini's Sauce: 1 cup raw cashews (soaked) 1/2 cup sunflower seeds (soaked) 1 tbsp nutritional yeast 1 tsp garlic powder Juice of 1 lemon Dash of salt Water to blend Instructions: 1. Soak the cashews and sunflower seeds for 2-3 hours (you can use boiling water as well as a quick way to soften them. Soaking makes them easier to digest) 2. Wash, peel and spiralise the zucchinis 3. Rinse the soaked nuts and seeds. Add them to a high-speed blender with all remaining sauce ingredients. Blend until smooth and creamy. Add a little water to reach your desired consistency. 4. Pour sauce over prepared zoodles and mix well. Top with fresh parsley. Serve and enjoy! Let me know if you try this 😍

@Natasha Ocha I have a handheld one at the moment. Not amazing (but great for travel and cheap). These kind of spiralisers are the best: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/avanti-spiretti-fruit-and-vegetable-slicer-zoodles-spiral-slicer-110106069/?&offerId=463935&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Kmart%7CAU%7CMarketplace%7C3P%7CNA%7CSEM%7CGoogle%7CPMax%7CNA:kmabrd020225&ds_eid=3962755682&ds_e=GOOGLE&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23306411206&gbraid=0AAAAAD4f9KqNczBGrVXgZljvKVIwAcjYI&gclid=CjwKCAjwn4vQBhBsEiwAq3hhN7bDYsZBTGuxmDdaDAsRNGeA9i7dAwfZ0cCT-7GGtWIu4qwSjiBGchoCABUQAvD_BwE
Breakfast this morning
Juice is one of the best ways to start your day! It provides immediate fuel to your cells and gently wakes up and flushes your digestive system. Your first meal of the day should always be the lightest…not the heaviest! You are breaking your overnight fast, hence why it’s called break-fast. I had 1.5 L in total (roughly 700 cals) What did you have? Post a pic below👇🏽 Let's inspire each other!
