⛏️20 New friends thank you all.👍
We just hit 20 people in the community… and honestly, that means a lot to me.🧘‍♀️🧘 It might not seem like a huge number to some, but to me it’s 20 real people who chose to be here, learn, share, and grow together.📗 I’m really grateful for every single one of you. This isn’t just a group—it’s starting to feel like a solid crew of like-minded people who love the outdoors, prospecting, and just getting out there and doing it.🌲 As we hit this milestone, I want you all to know I’m working behind the scenes on a new field classroom and setting up some workshop days so we can take things to the next level together. Thanks for being here, seriously. This is just the beginning.🙏

🖤Quartz and ????📗
My buddy found this in Boswell bc its quartz with a black-looking oxide or crystal structure. It looks like small granule crystals. Photos only work so much the best way is to have it in hand to test and see what it can be. What do you think it can be???? 🏴 Quartz with black tourmaline (schorl),✅️❎️ Silver lead galena oxidation✅️❎️ iron hematite / magnetite✅️❎️ manganese oxide✅️❎️ graphite✅️❎️ Or some thing els❓️ Will update as i go😃

I believe that looks like pyrite and quartz. Makes sense it would be a metallic based mineral

@Sheldon Evans do they have hematite in your local? Might be crusted with some of that. Definitely looks rich in some combination like that

🐻Prospecting Tip Tuesday – Bear Awareness (Read This Before You Head Out)
🐻 Prospecting Tip Tuesday – Bear Awareness (Read This Before You Head Out) Alright… quick real talk before we get into it. When you’re out in the field looking for gold, especially along creeks and rivers, you’ve gotta stay aware. Stop. Think. Look. Keep your distance. Stay calm. Never surprise wildlife… especially bears. bear spray is a must.🧸 Or if you have a stick of 🧨that works as well❓️ If you see one: ✔️ Don’t run ✔️ Don’t approach ✔️ Give it space and back away slowly Now… With that in mind. So there I was… Walking down a quiet river, scouting out a fresh claim. Water looked perfect. Gravel bars, nice bend in the creek… everything was screaming “there’s gold here.” I slow down… remembering the rules. Stop. Think. Look. And that’s when I see it. A bear… standing right in the creek. I freeze. “Alright… stay calm… he’s just fishing… don’t scare it… keep your distance…” I’m doing everything right. Then I look closer… This bear… has a gold pan. I blink. No… no way… He dips it in the water… gives it a swirl… checks it like he’s been doing this his whole life. Now I’m standing there like: “Hold up… that’s MY spot…” My brain goes from safety mode to gold fever REAL quick. Next thing I know I’m thinking: “I might have to fight this bear for dominance…” Out loud… I actually say: “Hey! That’s my gold, you old bear!” The bear stops… Slowly turns… Stands up… Way bigger than I expected. Drops the pan. Now it’s on. Next thing you know… We’re out there like something straight out of a cartoon. Kicking… swinging… slipping in the mud… I grab a camping chair—don’t even remember packing it—and WHACK. The bear looks offended more than hurt 😂 One more swing… And somehow… SOMEHOW… The bear backs off… turns… and runs into the bush. So there I am… Standing in the creek… Out of breath… Covered in mud… Looking around like a legend. I pick up the pan… step into the water all proud and say: “Yeah… that’s what I thought.” “Just beat up a bear and took my claim back…”

🌲 Community Collaboration Post – Let’s Grow Together! 🌲
This category is all about growing together through our shared love of nature healing, prospecting, and the great outdoors. I’d love to turn this into a real collaborative space where we all help each other level up — whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been chasing gold, foraging, hiking, or finding peace in the wild for years. Let’s make this the most supportive nature-focused category around!🔥 If you’re looking to collaborate, please use the Community Collaboration category. I’d like to keep it focused on outdoors, nature, camping, rockhounding, prospecting, healing, helping others. If you got a community like that share your community👉

@Sheldon Evans I’m happy to be here. Started my own group too, Rockhounding the Ridge, right now it’s in It’s very immature stages. I’m still working out my video and editing kinks and waiting for more tools to come so that I can actually start cutting them. Right now, all I’m really able to do is use a tile saw and a rotary tools, but I’m collecting rocks from other places and doing awesome things with the drusy that I’m finding on my land. I’m going to do deep dive videos into each type of rock and mineral I collect. And eventually open up to digging on my land for private groups.
