After the recent Airport Sadness thread, I was thinking about my attire. Sometimes I shuttle clothing back and forth between home and work, with residences at each endpoint. I dislike suit jacket tails getting smashed for hours at a time against a seatback. I usually need a jacket and a hat to stay warm under the airplane cold ports. What would be some good hat and jacket upgrades?

I'm taking my mum to Harrods for afternoon tea. I'm pleased with my outfit, I would have preferred to wear my blue suede boots, but the weather is not suitable. I think a plane blue tie would have been better. I am curious to know if anyone can suggest other refinements?
