I am new here and was asked to introduce myself...
Hi everyone, I'm Michèle St.Amour (yes, my real name, LOLOL, not a stage one), also known as SpiritMoonWalker, Medicine Woman of Indigenous descent. I live in a self-sustainable off-grid home on top of a mountain, of course!! LOLOL, part of the year in the Laurentians of Canada, and come winter, we drive nine days down to the Yucatán in Mexico, where we live on the beach and sail our boat, a bluewater ocean-going sailboat named Magic Dragon (yes, that's her real name too, straight out of Treasure Island... who writes this stuff?? LOLOL — and given that I teach mastering your own inner dragon power, the irony is not lost on me), across the oceans with our three rescue dogs in tow. I run the Chakaura™ Institute of S.O.U.L., one of the only initiate schools teaching the higher science of the structure of the Soul, the Chakaura™, and its essence, which is Love energy (hence the name reference, in case that wasn't obvious enough already 😄). I just released my first album, Your Soul Knows, which sits nicely alongside my novel, published in 2016, Chakaura: Awakening the Muse — a story for these times, written for these times, apparently before these times even arrived. I've spent 25 years working with subtle energy, applied quantum physics, and Soul consciousness. Fair warning: I have an awful sense of humor, believe self-honesty and laughing at one's own hiccups is the key to becoming, and I say it as it is. I will probably mention my dogs again before this week is out. Topics I love talking about: dimension jumping, miracle healings, life after death, aliens, superpowers, gardening, music, dance, food, and books (I'm a certified book nerd). Basically, if it's slightly unbelievable and deeply real at the same time, count me in. If any of that sounds even slightly intriguing rather than terrifying, we're probably going to get along just fine. Looking forward to meeting people of like mind here 🙏 Oshtalo....
@Dana Neilson hi where r u?
Simple Full Guide to Self-Love
Do you want to experience true self-love where you genuinely feel happy in yourself? Let me explain how you can achieve that. Cultivating self-love isn't having a "self-care" day where you just lay in bed all day, order bad takeaway, and consume content for 12 hours because that's self-harm. That's horrible for you. No, the real self-love self-care is just: - pride in doing the disciplined things whenever you don't feel like it - eating healthy whenever you don't want to - waking up early to get to work whenever you don't particularly feel like doing it - doing that call whenever you don't want to do it - delaying gratification for future you If you do these consistently, you will have the best joyful life experience with self-love. To cultivate self-love this is just what you need to do it is that…. Again you need to simply just do more disciplined things that are hard to do but benefit you long term, simply delay gratification instead of choosing instant gratification. Self love isn't bed rotting and all those things, which are just horrible for you. Instead the real self-love is being disciplined and delaying gratification for your future self, that will actually cultivate self-love, and make you proud of your accomplishments, and you will feel optimistic for the future. It's similar to the marshmallow experiment where a group of people were put into a room and they were left with a marshmallow. If they could delay it for 5 or 10 minutes, then they would get an extra marshmallow. The studies reported that the people who were able to delay the pleasure then got on to lead much happier, successful, and better lives than those who didn't. This is important for your healing journey, these are the lessons that I learned.
There's real truth in here about discipline and delayed gratification, and the marshmallow study point is well made. I want to offer a gentle counterpoint though, because something in the framing feels a little off to me. Calling rest "self-harm" is where I'd pause. A day of genuine rest and a day of numbing avoidance aren't automatically the same thing — sometimes the body and Soul genuinely need stillness, not another task to push through. Maybe the real question isn't rest versus discipline. Maybe it's whether either one is coming from a grounded place, or an ungrounded one. Discipline forced through sheer willpower, without real grounding underneath it, can burn a person out just as easily as collapsing into avoidance does. Both can end up being forms of ego, oddly enough, just wearing different clothes. True self-love, in my own experience, isn't really either extreme. It's being grounded enough in your own Soul connection to feel the difference, moment to moment, between rest that restores you and rest that's actually avoidance, between discipline that grows you and discipline that's just punishing yourself into shape. That discernment feels like the real skill, more than the discipline itself.
Consciousness, As I've Come to Know It
For most of my life I was taught consciousness was a mind state. Something you reach through thought, through effort, through getting quiet enough to touch it. I have spent 25 years sitting across from people in real crisis, and that taught me otherwise. I began to recognize that consciousness isn't something the mind produces and in fact has nothing to do with the mind except that the mind can block consciousness. It's a state of presence, so subtle that it cannot be recognized in any traditional manner.. It's not even a presence, it simply is and it is the essence of the Soul itself, and the mind is just where it shows up once it's found a way through. In me it doesn't feel like thought at all. It feels like the void; i cannot feel it for it has no weight. I cannot think it for it has no intellect.. it is pure presence beyond the mind... Like something ancient standing behind my own eyes, steady, unmoved by whatever is happening around me. When it's fully present, I noticed my energy is high, my senses sharpen, my intuition is right on and I know things before I can explain how I know them. It isn't a feeling I chase. It's a feeling I return to. I began to notice: when that presence is blocked, life feels like static. Searching. Repeating the same patterns. Working hard at things that never quite land. When it isn't blocked, nothing outside of you needs to change for things to shift, because the shift was never out there to begin with. That's the piece I keep coming back to. Not raising vibration as an event, but restoring a connection that got broken, disconnected, or bypassed along the way. One that can be rebuilt. What does consciousness feel like when it's actually present in you, not just thought about?
@Kevin Michael Brown Kevin, thank you for sitting with this so thoughtfully. What you are describing, that shift from noise to signal, from crowded to congruent, that is real, and it matters deeply in daily life. I want to add one small distinction, gently, because I think it changes everything once it is seen. What you are describing there, the quieting, the congruence between thought and emotion and action, that is actually a mental state. A beautiful one, and one worth cultivating. But consciousness itself, in my experience, is not a state at all. It does not come and go with the noise. It does not need remembering, because it never actually left, not even in the noisiest moment. The mind quiets or it does not. Consciousness simply is, underneath either condition, the same, always. What changes is not consciousness itself but how much of the mind is currently in the way of us noticing it. So maybe it is less about removing what prevents us from recognizing it, and more about realizing recognition was never actually required for it to be true. 🙏
@Mark Holiday Mark, thank you, truly. "Stepping back into a quiet, unwavering observer" is such a precise way to say it. That stepping back is the whole thing, isn't it. Not doing more, not thinking harder, simply returning to what was watching all along. Grateful this landed so clearly for you. 🙏
