I need your help
I'd like to make the classes we run work a little better. And thats a lot easier to do if I know what's happening at your end. So here's what I propose - I'm going to announce the theme of the class ahead of time. We will work on similar material for a month. And then change theme the next month. What I need from you - message me on skool. Or post in the community page anything that is going on for you. This is especially important if you are doing the recordings. That way you can make a decision about whether the class is for you. And I can help progress or regress the material so you get more out of it. Sound good? Let me know in the comments below

I have to apologise. The last two Tuesday classes were uploaded but I forgot to hit the 'publish' button. This has now been rectified. If you're keen to do the sessions just a heads up - they are a little more on the strengthy side. Class cancelled tonight
Apologies for the last minute cancelation but we’re not going to be able to host tonight’s class. There’s plenty of recorded classes to keep you entertained and we’ll be back as usual next Monday afternoon. (Or tomorrow morning for those in The Upward Spiral)

New years resolutions and self belief bricks...
Merry Christmas, Everyone! 🎄 As we near the end of the year, I’ve found myself reminiscing about the ups and downs, the lessons learned, and all the moments that made 2024 what it was. And, as it always does at this time of year, my mind started wandering toward the year ahead. Which of course got me thinking about... New Year’s Resolutions. 😅 So, I’d love to throw a couple of questions your way and share a little thought on self-belief that’s been on my mind. Question 1: Do you set New Year's resolutions? If yes, do you stick with them or change them halfway through the year? If no, why don't you? I know some people swear by them, while others think they’re a waste of time. Personally, I’m curious to hear what your approach is! Is it a tradition, or just another reason to reset? A Little Thought on Self-Belief 💡: Self-belief is built brick by brick. It’s built by doing what you said you were going to do, even when it’s hard. It’s built by making promises to yourself, and following through on them. On the flip side, self-doubt is built by doing the opposite: by letting yourself down. So here’s the thing — don’t set yourself up with huge, overwhelming goals that feel impossible from the start. That only leads to frustration and, eventually, a house of doubt. Instead, start small. Ask yourself: What’s one thing you KNOW you can commit to? Even if it’s tiny. Maybe it’s getting 10 minutes of exercise a day, reading one page of a book, or simply drinking more water. Whatever it is, make a promise to yourself — and follow through. Once you’ve mastered that small commitment, you can stretch the goal a little more, shift the target, and keep building on that foundation. But start where it’s achievable. What’s one small, realistic goal you could commit to for 2025? Maybe something simple that feels doable, even on the busiest of days? What is your self belief brick so to speak I’d love to hear your thoughts and start a conversation about how we can approach the new year in a way that actually sets us up for success — and, more importantly, confidence in ourselves.

I used to make New Year's Resolutions back in the ol’ days, and they always came from this gnarly place of punitive contempt for who I was with a very critical “get your sh*t together” tone. And I’d basically write detailed “resolutions” in every domain of life that basically took up all the hours one had in a day, so I’d be quite miserable whilst trying to be a robot and do said resolutions, and then I’d inevitably fail them and need to eat another dose of feeling defective. I’ve mellowed up heaps over the years, and now the idea of resolving to do something for a year seems a bit… bizarre. Perhaps that’s my commitment phobia showing, but I don’t even know who I’m gonna be in a month so pledging an oath to do a specific something for a whole year is quite ambitious. I like having little mini experiments for trying out a little something over a week or month to see how I go or how I feel, with no pressure to stick at it if it doesn’t stick. And that way you get 52 or 12 of them over the year rather than a big giant one! Way more fun. But… What I do really like doing around the turn of the year is reflecting. My default is to remember a lot of the sub-optimal events, and the “lessons learned” or “opportunities for improvement” (which is PC way of saying the ways I stuffed up). So it’s a great exercise to put some energy and focus in to the opposite positive things like: - what I did that improved my quality of life (e.g. Groundwork), - what I’m proud of (e.g. winning around of chaseys by climbing a tree :P), - what some of my most favourite moments were (e.g. travel shenanigans) - what I’m grateful for (e.g having a piano, and Neighbours who don't complain about me having a piano) - what gave me contedness or delight (e.g. Sherlock) - - And from that activity, I can tap in a bit to what my values are and potentially what some of the gaps are that are. Armed with that, I can look forward into the next year and make really loose conceptual “New Years Gentle Intentions” that are inspired by injecting more of the stuff that I saw added meaning / goodness – perhaps proactively reaching out to friends, or seeking more opportunities to get in to some trees, contemplating anywhere one would like to holiday to, maybe… maybe joining a choir eventually maybe (or just entertaining the idea of it). Etc etc. I guess the next step would be making it a “SMART Goal” and put measurable metrics on them. However, I have a propensity to procrastinate things as soon as they have a deadline and then they become a source of stress, so this year I’ll just let them marinate in the background of my conscience!
