Add Scaffolding to Progress People Through the Stages Automatically
Hey @Peter Shev - Getting more and more used to your system. Fully understand how it works and why you've chosen to do certain things certain ways. - One of the things that I'm curious about is why you've chosen to have people deal with selecting the different stages as they level up and progress through the system. It's one of the only parts of your system that introduces confusion. - I ran into something similar with my system. People felt overwhelmed at the beginning, so I rolled out the product to the user in Stages like you have here as they completed each "Mission". - The way I did that was to break down my "Original Dashboard" to where it was only addressing one process as a "Stage 1 Dashboard". - I put the "Original Dashboard" and the "Stage 1 Dashboard" in a Database and filtered it to only show "Stage 1". Then once they finished Stage 1 - This could be controlled after a certain amount of days or levels or by clicking a button - then their "Dashboard Database" would then get updated to filter to "Stage 2", and so on and so forth until they had finally been through the onboarding/tutorial process and unlocked the "Final Dashboard". - If you moved the Databases out of Cycles and onto their own page to their own page and then Duplicated your Cycles page once for each Stage then you could have the buttons and templates on each "Cycle Stage" Page already be set to the correct version. This way noone has to click in and change anything in the buttons or pick which template to load. It would go on behind the scenes. Hopefully that all made sense. It'd make your Template larger to download, but I think you could provide a much better onboarding experience that guides the member through the process naturally without needing to pair it with a bunch of YouTube videos. You could have a different set of instructions within a toggle on each different "Cycle Stage" page as they progress through it.

Theres not really a point of friction if you watch the videos, but the fact that there have to be videos in order to understand how to use the product i guess is the point of friction I'd like to relieve. If it was just selecting the template then that probably wouldn't bother me that much but needing to change the template in the button towards the end is where I thought. Hmmm there's a better way to do this than that

@Peter Shev I hear ya. No. You're right, That's always the hassle with using Linked Views on multiple pages. I prefer to work from a Wiki. It has it's pros and cons, but I think the pros win out. With a Wiki then even when you're on a database page you still have Properties that you can use to navigate through the application. For instance you can relate all of the Pages that use a Database to that Database so that whenever you're on the Database page you can then jump back to anywhere in the application. You can also have a "Home" button property. Have you tried working with Wikis? I'm kinda regretting saying anything. What you have isn't bad at all. Just thought I'd brainstorm on ways to improve it. Seems like I'm coming off as an a--hole🤷
Whoa Your YouTube Channel is Awesome
I found this group through Skool, so I hadn't seen your YT Channel. The LifeOS system and classroom are useful to get results in a consistent structured manner, but I was missing out on some of the bigger picture aspects of the Fundamental Mastery System that you cover in more depth on YT. I'm glad I attended the Livestream today. I've been stuck at the Clarity stage of the hierarchy and haven't really known what to do about it. Going to keep checking out your content, but I just wanted to say thanks to those on the call today and to you @Peter Shev for doing such a great job at creating and explaining a system that stays focused on First Principle thinking. 👏
Enquiring Minds Want to Know
Hi everyone, Is there a chat room or a place in this Life OS school where we can talk about other Notion templates? I’ve studied over 50 template creators and have noticed some interesting approaches. Obviously, Peter is a genius with what he’s created, and I have only positive things to say about his work. That said, I think there are other templates worth discussing that are more targeted and practical if your goal is managing your life effectively. I don’t want to sound critical or rude — I’m just hoping to share a “compare and contrast” perspective for anyone interested. I’m really trying to learn Notion so I can adapt its capabilities to my personal task manager, which I use in a different program. It would be great to have a hangout or discussion session where we could talk about these topics. Based on what I’ve seen so far, there are some very experienced people in this group, and I’d love to learn from their wisdom as well. They may even have experienced using some of these templates. If the guidelines are that we only focus on Peter’s Project, that’s perfectly fine — I’m happy to do that, but I’d also be glad to share ideas or collaborate whenever it’s helpful.

😄 I hear you @Dr. John Pollard . I'm a part of all of those same Notion groups and totally agree. I've been advocating for more collaboration and a stronger focus on community success within the Notion circles for years. Marie Poulin's group (Notion Mastery) is probably most responsive and tight knit, but even then it's more top down than I'd like. Chris did build Notion Wizards as a holding tank for his audience (and ultimately let it die on the vine), but he has agreed to let me revive the community and reset the culture. Between now and the end of the year, I will be reengaging the community, holding open office hours & coworking sessions, creating collaborative challenges, and helping inspire others to grow their own Notion ecosystems that can serve as their core intranet for collaboration, networking, and building stronger connections with their customers.
