Whats your opinion on NIL?
Over the last few years NIL has EXPLODED and the transfer portal has become such a massive part of college players and college recruiting. I do think college atgletes should be able to be compensated for their name image and likeness, but I do think its starting to turn college basketball at the higher levels into more about business rather than basketball. Feel like lots of intentions now revolve around 'for the money' and not 'for the love of the game' like we saw before NIL became a thing. What are your thoughts? I'm REALLY interested to see what your opinions are on this

My concern is NIL coming into play at ages 10-13... this is the age where they learn to play with fundamentals, however I see time and time again coaches and parents push these kids to do 18 combos to drop a defender, step back, hit a long 3 and make content for YT or IG, just so they can profit one day... I love NIL for College kids, but younger than that is a slippery slope!
Less = More
What's something you stopped doing as a coach that actually made your athletes better? Sometimes improvement comes from doing less, not more. What's one thing you stopped doing?⬇️

I stopped being too much of a buddy.. they took advantage of this eventually and started goofing around at our skills development sessions. Now I balance strict coaching with fun drills. During the fun drills is where happy coach Sin comes out and does some awesome moves or busts out jokes / trash talk. Every other minute it's a lot more intentional.

@Joseph Wunder some like it, some don't. The paying customers (ie: parents) LOVE IT 🙌 😀
🚨 July Level-Up Challenge 🚨
Want a chance to hop on a FREE 1-on-1 call with me? Here's the challenge: if you reach Level 5 or higher in the community by July 31st, you'll unlock a personal, 30 minute one-on-one coaching call with me. The more you engage by completing classroom lessons, commenting, posting, earning likes, and helping other members, the faster you'll level up. This is my way of rewarding the members who are actually putting in the work. Let's finish the month strong...I can't wait to meet with everyone who earns it! Right now, the group Leaderboards look like this: 71% Level 1: Rookie 8% Level 2: Role Player 14% Level 3: Starter 4% Level 4: All-Star 1% Level 5: MVP 1% Level 6: Finals MVP 1% Level 7: Multiple Rings You getting to Level 5?

It's gonna be hard to get to lvl 5 but I think level 4 is definitely doable. Maybe I get a 15min call with @Daniel Cooper ?! Haha
Plan Development App or System
Hey coaches How do you all plan your workouts for the week and specific age groups? Do you combine all ages groups into 1 week theme, or do you customize and if so, which App do you use? Right now I'm using Gemini to help create structured plans by age group and by week, but then it spits it out in Google Sheets or Google Docs and it gets a bit much to track. All ideas welcomed! 🙏

@Daniel Cooper can't wait to hear more about this coach. I plan a 8 week program, each week a theme, all age groups attack the theme. Ultimately leading to the final week of advanced skills, drills and games.. but thats just me

@Sanaa Redmond congrats on level 5 :)
Viral Defensive Video
I'm sure we've all seen the viral clip of a coach teaching to cross your feet and run to beat the offensive player to the spot. I'm curious everyone's thoughts on this topic?

@Daniel Cooper their hips are too tight or just don't move that way at the young age. Consistency and understanding is key! I sometimes make the kids do a drill that is literally a Salsa dance move lol, they laugh and next thing you know they're moving!

@Joseph Wunder I think just the stop and go that the offensive player chooses. Can't think of anything else...
