🎯 Activity Does Not Equal Progress
As entrepreneurs, it's easy to stay busy. Answering emails. Updating your website. Tweaking your logo. Organizing files. Working on the "next big thing." The problem? Being busy doesn't always move the business forward. I've seen business owners spend weeks perfecting something that ultimately had little impact on revenue, profit, or customer experience. Meanwhile, the real issue—getting more leads, improving sales, or serving customers better—remains untouched. 💡 A simple question I ask myself: "Will this directly improve revenue, profit, cash flow, or customer experience?" If the answer is no, it may not be the highest priority. The goal isn't to do more. The goal is to do what matters most. If you struggle with decision-making in business or life, check out the #DBR Decision Clarity Framework in the Classroom. It's designed to help you focus on what truly moves the needle and avoid getting stuck in busy work. Let's start Doing Business Right! DBR

💰 Why Is Pricing So Hard?
Most entrepreneurs don't struggle with pricing because they lack value. They struggle because of fear. - "What if nobody buys?" - "What if I lose clients?" - "What if my competitors are cheaper?" The truth is: Most service businesses are undercharging, not because they aren't good enough, but because they haven't learned how to price and package their value effectively. That's why I created: 🚀 The DBR Value-Based Pricing Framework Inside the classroom, you'll learn: ✅ Why most businesses undercharge ✅ The difference between value and price ✅ How to improve your offer before raising prices ✅ How to create more cash flow through better pricing ✅ A simple framework to price with confidence If you've ever struggled with pricing your services, this resource is for you. 📚 Check out the classroom: #DBR Value-Based Pricing Framework What's your biggest challenge when it comes to pricing? My Old thinking needs a face-lift
So Where Did DBR Come From?
Most people in Northwest Arkansas know me today as the owner of DBR Bookkeeping. But before I started my business in Fayetteville, Arkansas... I was a college band director and university professor. In fact, music has been one of the biggest influences in my life. I've worked with numerous marching band programs throughout the years and even marched with the Santa Clara Vanguard, including their 1999 DCI Championship season. Music was the vehicle that brought me many of the opportunities I've had in life. It taught me discipline. Leadership. Creativity. Teamwork. And how to continually improve through repetition and practice. As entrepreneurs, I think it's important that we embrace our past experiences. They shape who we are. Your personal brand isn't just your business. It's your personality. Your perspective. Your experiences. Your story. I'm grateful to have such a diverse background because it helps me approach problems differently, think outside the box, and bring creativity into DBR Bookkeeping. The things that make us different are often the things that make us valuable. What's something unique about your past that makes your brand special today? Let's start Doing Business Right! DBR

My experience is nothing like yours. Still, I worked in advertising sales, and in an office with 25 woman. Taught me to work with people, and gain confidence in myself. I use my past experiences often. Even as a retired person.
Why Bookkeeping Is a Great Business Model
A lot of people ask me why I chose bookkeeping. Honestly? I think it's a fantastic business model. Why? ✅ It solves a clear problem for business owners ✅ It's recurring revenue (clients typically need monthly support) ✅ It has relatively low overhead ✅ It's scalable with systems and technology ✅ It's needed year-round, not just seasonally And perhaps most importantly... It helps business owners better understand their finances and make better decisions. Now, like any business, it has its challenges. No business is perfect. But for me, bookkeeping was a great way to get my foot in the door in entrepreneurship while developing a valuable skill: financial management. The more I learned about business finances, the more I was able to help both my clients and myself. What business models do you think are great for new entrepreneurs? What would you recommend to someone starting their first business? Let's keep Doing Business Right! DBR

Pricing and value. We underestimate our worth, the value we bring to a project. You may not be at your desired rate. So quit suffering and be real. You have what your customers need.
Going Back to Business Basics
Lately, I've been spending time reviewing some of the fundamentals of business: • Offers • Pricing • Lead Generation • Lead Nurturing• Basic Sales • Business Mindset • And a few others Why? Because the fundamentals take thousands of reps to truly master. As a musician and trombone player, I've been playing for over 30 years. And you know what I still practice? Scales. Long tones. Breathing exercises. The fundamentals. Not because I don't know them. Because the fundamentals are what make everything else possible. Business is no different. Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs don't come from learning something new. They come from getting better at the basics you've been doing all along. What business fundamental are you currently working to improve? DBR
