How Do You Build a Brand from Ground Zero?
When I started my business in Northwest Arkansas, I was entering a completely new region. No contacts. No followers. No local reputation. Not even a clear idea of how to connect with people beyond making a few Facebook posts and sending some emails. NOBODY knew who I was—let alone trusted me to handle their bookkeeping. So, I had to start building my personal brand one interaction at a time. I started: ✅ Showing up consistently ✅ Repeating a clear message about what I did ✅ Meeting one-on-one with dozens of people—and eventually hundreds ✅ Posting consistently on social media ✅ Building my online presence and SEO ✅ Helping people before asking them for business Then I coined the phrase “Doing Business Right.” That phrase gave people something simple to remember and helped connect my name, values, and reputation to a consistent message. But none of this happened overnight. It took about six months of showing up consistently before I started receiving my first real inquiries. Six months just to build the foundation. If you’re starting from ground zero, your first goal isn’t to become famous. It’s to become: Visible. Clear. Consistent. Trustworthy. Your brand is built every time you show up, share your message, help someone, and follow through on what you promised. What are you doing right now to build your brand? DBR

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day!
Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! I actually did something I don't always do very well... I disconnected. 😂 After a busy week, I took some time over the weekend to slow down, recharge, get some extra sleep, and enjoy a couple of little local adventures. As business owners and professionals, there's always something else we could be working on. But sometimes stepping away for a bit is exactly what we need to come back with more energy and a clearer head. So today, I'm keeping it simple: Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸 Hope you had a chance to enjoy the weekend and recharge a little too. What did your weekend look like—work, relaxation, adventure...or a little of everything? DBR

WHAT IS A BRAND? 🤔
A brand is simply: What people THINK about when they hear your name. That’s it. Think about a local pizza place. If you hear their name and immediately think: 🍕 “Best pizza in town.” That’s their brand. If you think: 😬 “Good food, but terrible service.” That’s also their brand. Your logo is not your brand. Your colors are not your brand. Your website is not your brand. Those things can HELP communicate your brand. But your brand is the reputation you build through what you consistently DO and DELIVER. So here's the better question: When someone hears the name of YOUR BUSINESS, what do you want them to immediately think? Let's start Doing Business Right! DBR

@Sindi McGuire It cames down to "what do you want to be known for?" That is your brand.
🤔 WHAT DO PEOPLE SAY ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS WHEN YOU'RE NOT IN THE ROOM?
That question is at the heart of our September focus in the Doing Business Right community. Last month, we focused on: KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER. BUILD BETTER OFFERS. Because great offers start with understanding WHO you're trying to help and WHAT they actually need. Now we're taking the next step. 🔥 SEPTEMBER: YOUR BRAND IS YOUR FUTURE When people hear your name or your business name... What do you WANT them to think? What do you want to be KNOWN for? What words, feelings, experiences, or results do you want people to associate with you? And let's tackle an even bigger question... WHAT THE HECK IS A BRAND? 😂 Hint: It's a lot more than your logo, colors, website, or social media graphics. Throughout September, we're going to explore what makes a brand, how we intentionally build one, and why the reputation we're creating TODAY can influence the opportunities we have TOMORROW. 💬 LET'S START WITH A CONVERSATION: When you think of BUILDING A BRAND... What comes to your mind? Drop your thoughts below! 👇 Let's Start Doing Business Right! DBR
