8 Outside-the-Box Book Marketing Ideas You HAVE to See
@Sierra Melcher My pleasure. Hope its helpful...
When I wrote Rose Marketing I created postcards, a bookmark and had pens made. I did something similar with a box and sent to meeting planners who booked speakers. Both FTD and Teleflora invited me to speak at their annual conferences from that simple promo. I only did it to a few (less than 10) because I really didn't have the time to travel as I was running a full time business (my flower shop). I just had bookmarks made for The Expectant Author and will give them away with a letter to local book stores that I have relationships with. May expand that idea at some point. Bookmarks also make nice gifts.

I can pick two of these to have edited to use for my new headshot. Please vote for top 2. I’m terrible at this! Thank you!

I agree with @Sierra Melcher #1 and #2 having said that, I have several headshots and decide which ones to submit based on what I am sharing and where it is being published. Sometimes I want a more professional image and other times a more casual one is appropriate. I love #3 as it shows you relaxed and smiling big. That one could have all sorts of applications. My suggestion is to go with your gut and submit the one you feel best fits the content and the medium you are submitting to. Best of luck!
@Leslie Barber All of the above.

Why do writers keep coming back to our community? Start in 90min
Here’s what they gain: 1. **Accountability That Actually Works** @Carlie Kramer and @Brittney Dunnigan have established an accountability buddy system. Our Friday co-writing sessions feature 2-hour collaborative blocks where writers share their goals, write together, and celebrate their progress. Monthly 90-day goal reviews help maintain focus, with Sierra Melcher guiding us to check our 30-day milestones. Weekly meetings create a rhythm and ensure everyone has something to show. 2. **Safe Space for Imperfect Work** We’ve collectively decided that "imperfect first drafts must be intentionally imperfect." @Barbie Applegate shared her 1,500 words, which she considered "poor quality," and the group reinforced the importance of the first draft process rather than nitpicking. @Leslie Barber advised against focusing on minor details like punctuation and capitalization, emphasizing a big-picture perspective instead. 3. **Time Management Breakthrough** @Carol Britton struggled to find writing time due to life interruptions, is not alone. @Sierra Melcher struggles too and suggested creating space by performing less critical duties poorly or delegating. Using five-minute increments can prevent procrastination, and the proof is in the results: 40-minute sessions can yield 1,500 words and plot breakthroughs. 4. **Concrete Structure That Removes Guessing** We’ve introduced a one-minute elevator pitch format, clarifying what writers need to prepare. This eliminates confusion about what to bring and allows for optional deeper sharing for those seeking feedback. 5. **Peer Energy, Not Solo Grind** Our Friday co-writing sessions foster a collaborative accountability group atmosphere. Writers reconvene to share progress, providing a boost of energy for their projects, supported by a community calendar for easy access.

What are you reading?
I found this book at my favorite cafe in South America. Reading it again this morning. Thank you @johnstrelecky for writing it and sharing it with the world 🌍. #readingrebels #readersofig #booksbooksbooks
What are you reading?
So many great books. I love to write and even more so, to read. In another skool group I shared a list of the books I am reading this summer. This one is on my mind tonight: Direct Your Life or Someone Else Will: Stop the Reruns, Take Back Control, and Make Your Life Better Than Any Movie — Tony Suriano An inspiring reminder that we are the writers, directors, and producers of our own stories. Thanks for asking!
@Leslie Barber That book sounds interesting! Let us know your thoughts when you finish!
