Right Hand Practice - Day 3
It was brutal (in a relaxing way)! As a complete newbie, I found it surprisingly hard to fire just my thumb and middle finger combo (or even thumb and ring finger). I had to pause the video, do a slow p-m and m-p drill until I can connect and engage the middle finger "at will". Did the same for ring finger as well (p-a, a-p). Then I could get back to the exercise (i.e. pi, pm, pa and the reverse). Planning to repeat this drill for few days, hoping it (mind-muscle connection) improves with time. Sharing this here, in case anyone runs into this and freaks out. Well at least I did. lol. Happy practicing!!

Micro breaks and concious relaxation.. epic! Gotta do few more reps in the coming days to dial it in.

Great session (and lesson). Got some good thumb rules (no pun intended) to follow, to dial in my own natural/neutral hand position. I liked the finger positioning technique, wherein one is able to play p-i-m-a on same string while the rest of the hand is (i.e. bend and twist of the wrist, finger height, etc are) anatomically neutral and fully relaxed.

No nails would be so convenient, as mine alway chip when doing (hobby) mechanical work in the workshop. I am staying with natural ones for now to practice with. Though it’s good to know fake ones are always there and are equally good, if I ever need them.

Loved the lesson. I had done few "pure motion" exercises early on, that has kept my pinky flairing under check. Though I still notice how the fingers are not actually "fully" relaxed. I'll repeat the air guitar and follow up plucking, until fingers are more independent and stop reacting to each other.
