WIP Wednesday
Hey ya'll, you know what time it is... post what you're working on! Messy or not, let's see it 👀!

I needed a break from work and wearables and have been wanting to try amigurumi again after about a decade, but I do not love chenille yarn as some of you know very well. However the skinny chenille made it much more enjoyable. I did follow a pattern after all this time since this is not my wheelhouse (it called for acrylic yarn but I was curious how the plush look would turn out). The experience confirmed that with a bit of studying shapes (increasing and decreasing) that I could very well design my own.

What gives you (crochet designer) imposter syndrome, sometimes? And why?

I would have to say this can occur at times because I am still getting my footing and am still learning more complex stitches and combining them.

Being able to design and write a pattern that I envision or have been challenged to is very exciting—even learning and persisting past the hiccups.
March Project: Mandala Shawl
Lord, this project tested my patience. I wanted to challenge myself to design another pattern and learn how to combine stitches and deal with stitch multiples. These are all based on double crochet, which I generally only use for granny squares. I alternated between DC rows, a DC mesh row (DC, ch1, sk st), a DC shell row, and the iris st/double V-st row (2DC, ch1, 2DC). The longer starting/turning chain helped straighten the base of my triangle, which was curved and wonky in my previous post. It’s a win. I would make a couple more and would find it meditative now that I know the pattern. 😆
