Client Seeking Guidance on Collection Account
The client is currently undergoing a military security clearance review and received a notice regarding a collection account that surfaced during the background check. This collection is being reported by a debt collector, not the original creditor. The client is concerned because he is wondering if he set up a payment agreement will it and is will it serve as a verification of the debt. He is considering whether to take action now or wait until his current credit repair rounds are complete at which point the account may be removed and he can provide an updated credit report. He is seeking guidance to ensure that no steps taken now will interfere with his expungement process. Sharing here in case others have similar questions or insights.
