I understand the photoshoots. The promises. The slow seduction of opportunity. One minute you’re being seen, being chosen, being told you’re special. Before you know it—there you are. And you don’t even know how you got there. But let’s be clear: These were children. Not “underage girls.” Not “young women.” Children. Will we ever get an explanation from the parents who put them in harm’s way? From the powerful people who facilitated this? From the systems that looked the other way? No. We will never get an explanation. There are no explanations that make this make sense. But I’m entering this story anyway. Not because I have answers, but because I have questions.
