Give some feedback, get some feedback 😀
After yesterday’s email workshop, I thought it would be FUN to kick off an Email Feedback Thread so we can help each other improve our emails. Your emails are one of the biggest drivers of engagement and sales — and fresh eyes can spot things we can’t always see ourselves. Here’s how it works: 👇 Drop a link to your next email draft below (Google Doc works best — just make sure it’s viewable by all) 💬 Give feedback on at least one other person’s email in this thread When giving feedback, consider: - Is there a hook that captures attention? - Does it flow naturally and feel easy to read? - Does it sound like a real human (not generic AI copy-paste or stiff)? - Is there a clear (even soft) call to action?

@Elise Hodge for me, I start at the bottom of longer emails and I loved your action steps!!! And the PS teaser. That’s enough for me, and all the time I’ll give to most emails. If someone really sits with any one of your action steps, that would be gold. Transformational. I would recommend putting even higher value on your smaller bits of info and called for transformation. Bite size bits gain far more loyalty and comfortable, even eager partipation for me. There are Two mentors of mine that I’ll read even pages from, but not so much anybody else. You are offering gold, or say pearls of wisdom. Perhaps do not scatter so many before them. There is only so much new we can integrate in a n already full day. I love your mindset!
Replay: Emails to (Softly) Sell Your Skool
Woah, that was FUN! We covered how to write emails to softly sell your Skool community… without just saying “BUY MY THING" - 7 types of emails you can send - a bunch of examples - Q&A time The replay has now moved into our Premium tier in our Skool Copy Essentials course. 🥰 P.S. THANK YOU to those who joined live, it was fun!

Awesome! I look forward to watching. Thank you.
What would you like feedback on?
I'm collating a list of the copy + Skool-related things we could help each other with. Inspired by the give some feedback, get some feedback (About page version) post I created last week. I think we could make this a regular weekly segment here, and help each other out. 🥰 Here are some ideas I have... - VOTE for the one you'd like to see next Please add other ideas in the comments.

@Elise Hodge Awesome, they are all on my refine list!
Your community isn't for everyone (your copy shouldn't be either)
Your copy actually needs to REPEL people. If your copy is repelling people, it’s doing its job ;) Because anyone can look at your page! - Heck, we can all look at your page (and a lot of the lovely members here HAVE been looking at your pages in our beautiful feedback thread) And they’ll decide whether it resonates with them or not. But the most important question to ask is this: 👉 Does it resonate with my ideal member? - The person who would be the very best, highest quality member I could possibly have? - Does it resonate and connect with them? Because THAT is what actually matters. Btw the BEST feedback doesn't filter through your own personal taste. It tires to look through the ideal member’s eyes, and asking QUESTIONS to inquire about THEIR members' personal taste (a whole different train of thought). I digress... We don’t want to be attracting everyone. So we don’t want our messaging to speak to everyone. If it speaks to everyone, it speaks to NO ONE. That's usually 'cause it's vague! And vague doesn’t bring in the right people. Your message needs to speak to YOUR perfect member!! Not everyone will get what you do... that's OK. (More than OK, because that's how it SHOULD be!) If you’re in a really specific niche around a particular skill or a particular passion, there might be words within that community that only the people you want in the community would even know. And the rest of us wouldn’t get it. Use THOSE words that your members "just get". That’s how the right people feel seen. The only caveat is this (especially relevant to more expert-led communities): If you're using "expert language" that your members actually wouldn't understand. Ask yourself this: - Are these words coming from MY expert brain…or from my MEMBER'S brain?? Look, ULTIMATELY you want to make sure the words on your ABOUT page (and anywhere else you write words to attract members!) are words your ideal members actually understand... and connect with.. and feel SEEN by.

I thought it would be FUN to kick off an About Page Feedback Thread so we can support each other and level up our copy together. I’ve already noticed how thoughtful and helpful so many of you are with feedback (seriously… some of you could be copy coaches. Looking at you @Matthew O'Brien 😄). Your About page is often the very first impression someone has of your community or offer. Fresh eyes can spot blind spots we can’t see ourselves. Here’s how it works: 👇 Drop your About page link below 💬 Give feedback on at least one other person’s page in this thread When giving feedback, consider: • Can you tell who it’s for right away? • Is there a clear transformation or outcome? • Is authority or credibility established? • What’s included — and are the benefits clear? • Is there a reason to join now? • Is there a clear call to action? P.S. Thank you for your grace and kindness while I’ve been sick. I appreciate you so much!

@Jakolien Sok thanks so much for the feedback and your insights. How would you frame the b4 and after Grand Canyon experience? I’m not quite catching how to do that.

@Mike Pirie Thanks for your time and attention, I’m definitely in process on this one, and it’s a bit obvious the last edit was late in day! I’ll clean it up again, at a peak focus time!
