DAILY ROUTINE EXAMPLE FOR YOUNGER TEENAGERS
I know many of you are working on building a daily routine this week. Below you will find a sample routine by the hour for teenagers during summer break. If you watched my video on Instagram yesterday you already know -- idle time is not on the schedule. Even in the summer. Especially in the summer. Because idle time is the devil's playground and we are not renting him space in our homes. 😂 And before any teenager reading this over their parent's shoulder says "but it's summer" Summer is not a sabbatical from life. It is a training ground for adulthood. And we are using every day of it. This is just an example. Adjust the times to fit your household. But keep the structure. Structure is the gift. OTHER AGE GROUPS ARE POSTED MORNING 8:00 AM -- Wake up Yes 8:00. Not noon. Not 1pm. Not "whenever they feel like it." Sleeping until noon every day trains a teenager to be unproductive. And an unproductive teenager is a bored teenager. And a bored teenager with a phone and too much time is a whole situation we are trying to avoid. 8:00 AM is grace. Be grateful. 😂 8:15 AM -- Full morning hygiene Shower or save it for the evening. But at minimum: wash face, brush teeth, get dressed in real clothes. Real clothes. Not pajamas all day. Getting dressed signals to the brain that the day has started and there is something to show up for. 8:30 AM -- Breakfast They make it themselves at this age. Fully. Clean up behind themselves. Fully. 9:00 AM -- Morning devotional or time with God This is non negotiable in a Kingdom home. It does not have to be long. Fifteen to twenty minutes. A scripture. A journal entry. A prayer. The YouVersion Bible app has plans specifically for teens. The goal is that they are building a personal relationship with God that does not depend on mom or dad dragging them to it. This is the season where faith becomes their own or it does not. Help them choose it daily. 9:30 AM -- Personal development hour This is the hour that separates teenagers who are ready for adulthood from teenagers who are not.

CALLED DOESN'T MEAN RIGHT NOW
Can I take you back to David for a second? Samuel anointed him king while he was still a shepherd boy. Oil on his head. Word of the Lord spoken over his life. The calling was real. The anointing was real. And then he went back to his sheep. Not to the palace. Not to the throne. Back to the field. Back to the same flock. Back to the same daily responsibility that nobody was watching and nobody was clapping for. And while he was out there, unseen, unrecognized, not yet promoted he kept practicing. He kept playing his harp.He kept protecting his sheep. He kept developing the skill, the courage, and the faith that would eventually be required of a king. So by the time Goliath showed up David didn't have to find his gift under pressure. He already knew what was in his hands. By the time he stepped into the palace he didn't have to figure out who he was. He already knew whose he was. The anointing came years before the assignment was activated. And that gap that in-between season was not wasted time. It was preparation time. Just because you are called does not mean it is your time. And just because it is not your time does not mean you stop preparing. Because here is what I know about the way God works He does not promote the unprepared. He does not hand a platform to someone who hasn't practiced in private. He does not give you the audience before He has tested what you will say when you get there. The calling is real. The anointing is real. But the preparation is mandatory. So what does that mean for you right now? It means the season you are in the quiet one, the unsexy one, the one where nobody is watching and nothing looks like it's happening that season is not your delay. That season IS your training. Perfect the skill.Perfect the obedience.Perfect the consistency. Show up every day like the assignment is already yours...... because in the spirit it already is. David didn't become king and then discover his gift. He discovered his gift in the field. He perfected it in the silence. He carried it into the palace when God said it was time.

Parent Routine & Self Accountability
Can I talk to the parent who has a list in their head that never makes it to real life? You want to lose weight. You haven't started. You want to meal prep. The groceries are still in store. You want to wake up earlier. The alarm gets snoozed. You want to read your Bible consistently. It's been two weeks. You want to exercise. You're exhausted by 8pm. And then Sunday night hits and you tell yourself..... okay. This week. For real this time. Sound familiar? You cannot pour from empty. And you cannot teach your children discipline, consistency, and follow through if you are not practicing it yourself. They are watching you. Not just how you parent them. But how you treat yourself. Whether you keep promises to yourself. Whether you have goals and actually pursue them. Whether your words and your actions match. The most powerful thing you can model for your child is a parent who decided to become the person they are trying to raise. So today we are not talking about your kids. We are talking about YOU. Step 1 — Pick ONE goal. Just one. Not five. Not a whole lifestyle overhaul. One thing you have been saying you want to do and have not done. Lose weight. Read your Bible daily. Drink more water. Exercise three times a week. Sleep earlier. Meal prep on Sundays. Whatever it is...... pick one. Step 2 — Define what success looks like in 30 days. Not a vague "I want to be better." Specific. "I will exercise 3 days a week for 30 days.""I will read my Bible every morning for 30 days.""I will meal prep every Sunday for 30 days." That is your goal. Write it down. Step 3 — Give yourself a consequence if you don't. I know we talk about consequences for our children. But what about for yourself? If you skip three days without a real reason what happens? No eating out that week? No Netflix until you catch up? No social media until you do the thing? Pick something that actually stings a little. Something that makes you pause before you quit. Step 4 — Set your 30 day reward. If you follow through what do you get?
