What branch did you serve in, and what made you choose it? I met someone in college who was in the army as a grunt. He said he wanted to go back in to get a better skilled job and college money. I thought it was a great idea for me to get college money. So we both joined the Army on the same day. How about your choices?
I served in the Marine Corps. Heard it was the toughest and I had a lot to prove to myself. Plus I was hard-headed so it was easy for the recruiters to manipulate me. 😅
How many things in your life are on autopilot? I enjoy my monthly bills on autopilot. I only have one bill that isn’t. I feel a lot less stress with my bills this way. How about you?
In the past I couldn't have them on auto pay bc I never knew if I had enough money to cover my bills in time. Now that I have more money and fewer bills, I pay as I go along not just out of habit but bc I've found it's harder for companies to sneak in higher rates if I'm seeing the bills every month. (Storage facility is especially heinous.)
What do American military veterans want most today? I think better healthcare access is needed for some veterans. My dr appts are set a month or two out and I have to drive an hour or more to a va clinic. How about you?
The VA out here in Central Massachusetts is actually really good but I just haven't made the time to set up care for myself. I take my "uncle" there for his appointments and they've been great
Have any of you been to or signed up for TWS? https://togetherweserved.com. I did and they tell me about veterans who live near me. But I am shy and haven’t tried to meet any of them. Have you?
I liked A Few Good Men bc it showed what the mentality of many Marines is and it's probably the only time they didn't completely get away with it. Also Full Metal Jacket bc it came out while I was in boot camp and my mom saw it, had freaked out and made me watch it with her when I got out so I could tell her what could and could not have actually happened.
