@Jeff Jacobs I agree.
Hello
Let me start off first, to say hello and thank you for your service! I signed up for a six year contract in the Air Force at 34 years old. I ran harder and push myself harder to became stronger. My AFAC or some call MOS is 2A651 Aerospace Jet Propulsion. I have a background in diesel mechanics and engine building, but I knew nothing about fighter jets. So this was a learning curve for me mentally and physically. Trying to keep up with younger kids mentally was exhausting. When Covid hit a few of my friends committed suicide. This deeply impacted me and has haunted me since. I thought I could work more and it would help, also ignore the fact those young adults were no longer here. Feel free to tell me about your career in the military?

I guess I didn't give my actual details of service. I joined the US Army at age 20. My 21st birthday, I was locked in the barracks while in AIT. My MOS was 26V Strategic Microwave Systems Repairer. The signal school was 7 months long at Fort Gordon, GA. But 3 weeks before graduation, I was driving a motorcycle and was hit by a car. I had a head injury and was in a coma for 3 days. When I woke up, I didn't know who I was or who anyone else was. The Army sent me home for a month to bring back memories while being with my family as the first 21 years of my life were erased. Then I came back to the post to finish my AIT and they sent me to Livorno, Italy to serve my country in a Signal unit. This was the start of my journey in the military. I am thankful to God for my life and everything that has happened to me since then.
Thanksgiving
I hope everyone had a relaxing Thanksgiving weekend! I enjoyed spending it with my family. When I was stationed overseas, I never came home for thanksgiving. When you were in the service, how hard was it being away from your family?

@Becky Rapp There are definitely tear times in the service.
Family Time
So how many children and grandchildren do you have? Do you get to see them often or do they live very far from you? I have 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren. But they live very far away and I rarely see them. It is a bummer. That's why I want to retire with enough money to go visit them as much as I want or help them move close to where I live. I am working on some digital marketing but haven't hit it big yet.

@Kamila Drewczynski so glad that you get to be the boy mom! I hope you have special moments with each of them.

Your Story Has Power - Don’t Keep It to Yourself
Let’s get real for a second - this life isn’t just about you. It's about what you leave behind. Every experience, every mistake, every victory you’ve had; someone out there needs that wisdom right now. You’ve been growing, learning, and evolving. But at some point, the mission changes…You shift from a growth mindset to a contribution mindset. That’s when life really starts to expand. The truth is: Your story could be someone else’s survival guide. Your lessons could be the shortcut someone desperately needs. Your voice could be the spark that lights another person’s comeback. Challenge: This week, share one piece of knowledge that’s uniquely yours. Whether it’s a hard-earned life lesson, a skill, or a mindset shift - put it out there. You'll be amazed at how many people needed to hear exactly that. Because when you share your knowledge, you don’t just grow - You multiply impact. CTA: Drop a post today titled ā€œWhat I’ve Learned That Could Help Someone Else.ā€ Let’s make contribution contagious."

My grandfather was in the Air Force, but I have no idea what all his vitals are. He has been gone for a long time and now my mom is also gone. Bummer

Wanting to get out of the 9-5. If I can work 2 hours a day and make passive income, it will be like retiring!
