Front wheel lift 3. Force front wheel to land on feature 4. 2nd compression 5. Extend arms forward and down 6. Hinge at knees and hips 7. Ride away centered

There is a good place to practice this technique in the skills area at Eagle Bike Park. The feature at EBP is a little harder because it requires you to jump up two times (two steps up instead of one step up). It is challenging because you are forced to do it at a very slow speed.

Helping more Advanced riders and TP members @Brandon Bigford and @Sean Gordon through a section on the double black line where they were loosing or not maintaining speed. . After unlocking this little ninja secret, they were building more skills and flowing through this section with more precision. . Why? . When teaching these riders how to float off of the shark fin, I noticed they were both Stiff Pressure Control timing was off And the bars were either straight or turning the the right in the air. . On this feature, the way you control your bars in the air is how you control where your belly button is pointed. Of course, your belly button is the main way you control direction changes on the trail. . The main focus was to get them relaxed and add reps so they can slowly feel the left bar turn and how it allows them to tackle the subsequent right turn. . Turning the bar to the left allowed the riders to point toward an earlier apex and pump through the whole turn with no braking. . Turning the bar to the right was putting them on an inside line and forcing late braking through the turn, making the flow into the next feature officially canceled. . This is why you want a coaches eye on you while you progress. 🤘 . Editors note: they both were able to get it, I just wanted to use this clip for teaching.

This trail is pretty tough, a small mistake at the beginning has big consequences down trail. Sometimes the small problems are not obvious, we are lucky to have you pointing out what we should be focusing on. Thanks for the help, Levi! I am excited to work together on the next one.
BOYD wall ride
Sage was closed this morning so no party laps to be had, so I decided to work on BOYD. I can do everything except the wall ride and cannon, I’ve done the log. Decided to go for it today and was on/off the lilly pad just fine but took the jump at too perpendicular (too the wall) of an approach, tires connected with the wall at way too parallel of an angle (in relation to the wall boards) and caused me to just slide down the wall due to lack of traction (not fun). I feel like you have to approach the wall with way less of an angle, basically taking off the jump more in the middle or even towards the right a little bit, and then while in the air cranking the bar to the right and lean the bike to the left to change your bike angle in the air, so that when you land you are perpendicular to the wall. I knew it’s not a curved wall ride so you’re basically just landing and immediately riding down, but it didn’t work out today. Curious others’ thoughts who have completed that stage.

@Levi Weert Hey Levi, Is this the correct place? I plan to work on this more, I just want to make sure I'm in the right spot.

@Levi Weert Hey Levi, Quick question. The small blue marker is my landing target for my front wheel. Do you think it is too far from the lip of the jump? A while back you sent me a link to a Hip Jump YouTube video. In the video the guys turn their front wheel toward the hip in the air. That causes their shoulders to rotate. This jump is much smaller, but I should still be using that same technique, correct. Thanks again for all your help!
Sage Fright ✅
So stoked right now. Finally cleared all of Sage Fright tonight with Alden Miller. Totally OJ’d the last jump but kept the tires down. Amazing feeling. Riding Bogus tomorrow at like noon with Alden if anyone wants to link up.
