Book award or other recognition?
For any that have won awards or received other recognition, what sort of recognition was it, and what ways you have leveraged it? A big thanks to marketing guru, @Sarah Bean, for helping my book, Financial Epiphany, be recognized as winner of the Business, Money, Finance Book of the Year by the 2025 Independent Author Network awards. Onward fellow authors!

@K J Thank you KJ. This was a wonderful surprise, but momentum and confidence builds off of each win. One step at a time!
The Art of Messaging
Still thinking about the terrific LIVE on Saturday.... BLs author, @Scott Yamamura spoke eloquently about messaging and how he has so effectively utilized it. (Great examples, Scott, thanks for sharing!) I'm reading (again b/c I love it so much) MADE TO STICK, by Chip and Dan Heath. It's all about the art of messaging. They breakdown stickiness into 6 categories: SIMPLE -- core and compact UNEXPECTED-- pattern interrupt CONCRETE -- specific data CREDIBILITY -- internal, external, and audience-driven EMOTION -- making people feel STORIES -- act as simulators for people to take action Or, the acronym: SUCCES The authors suggest that when we include as many of those elements as possible in our messaging (and, really, all areas of our marketing), that's when we make the most memorable and moving impression on our audience. I can't tell you how much fun this book is, and how it changed and upleveled (and does every time I reread it) my own creativity and approach to messaging, and marketing in general. Highly recommend it if you want an inspiring and informative read. (And if you've read it, let me know!)

Oh, and I definitely run things by my wife and son occasionally...sometimes I can trust their feedback, sometimes I'm not so sure! Haha.

@Michele Rosenthal I really like how you put that...message massaging. Yes, how you approach it sounds right on! And great to hear that you like the word 'epiphany' as well...I agree that it is fun to say, and packs a punch with meaning and purpose!
What a Great April Author Showcase!
Today, was a fantastic Author Showcase! I totally enjoyed every one of the authors. I especially found great value in Scott Y. discussing his book, Financial Epiphany. He encouraged and inspired me to continue my journey on publishing my non-fiction financial literacy book. I have already authored several financial literacy books for children. However, I feel compelled to address a book to the parents. After being on today's live, I am going to try to eliminate the distractions and get back to it. Thanks again Julie and Team for bringing us such valuable information.

Hi there @T. a. Thompson, great to hear that you joined the Author Showcase this weekend. Like you, I watched the Author Showcase last year that got me going! Hard to believe my book is out, and I'm at this point already, enjoying the fruits of that labor. Great to hear about your journey in writing to improve financial literacy out there! As you speak of writing for kids in the past, and now adding parents...recently I'm finding that I've written my book for parents, and am now trying to speak more to kids! Haha...everyone needs to hear this stuff...all ages, stages, and wages!

@Eric Reid Thanks Eric for the encouraging words, and same to you!
Shane is the MAN at Book Launchers!
He just finished the site to my book... financialepiphany.com and the Book Launchers team just pushed the pre-sale of the book live on Amazon and linked it from the site!

@Craig Caldwell Thanks Craig! Glad the book sounds like it's along the lines of what are in need of. Following the tips in the book myself over the years is what I needed to finally understand money and be able to act with confidence. And that's what I wanted to share with others. Thanks!

@Eric Reid Shane helped me create an automated system for downloading a helpful PDF for site visitors. I would never have worked on a PDF without this nudge. And it creates an ongoing way to stay in touch with visitors thereafter.
Book Launch Event Video
Thanks to this community for input and being a sounding board for the Financial Epiphany book launch event I did. Here's the video from the event. I ended up calling it a Learning Event on Money so that the book was part of the teaching of the night, but it focused on what the audience needed to hear. At the end, the retiring Chief Financial Officer of Costco Wholesale came out as a surprise guest to share about 401(k) plans and giving back, in addition to the other speakers who helped the guests experience a mental miracle with their money!

@Kio Tuo Thank you Kio. It started with getting a few trusted people to help, and it grew from there. As more people decided to attend, we added on more features to match the size of the event.
