Using Layers on Your reMarkable: The Secret Weapon You’re Probably Not Using Enough
Most people use their reMarkable like a simple notebook… but the real magic happens when you start using layers. Layers turn your notebook into a flexible, non-destructive workspace — almost like having multiple transparent sheets stacked on top of each other. Here’s why they matter: ✅ Make changes without messing up your base notes Sketch on one layer, write on another, highlight on another. Erase freely without touching the core content. ✅ Perfect for planners & templates Keep your template clean on the bottom layer, write your plans on a layer above it, and keep your highlights or mood tracking on a third. No accidental erasing ever again. ✅ Powerful for studying or brainstorming Break ideas into layers: – Main notes – Side ideas – Questions – Mind map sketches You can toggle each layer on/off to reduce clutter. ✅ Great for creators Artists, designers, and doodlers can ink, shade, trace, and experiment without fear of ruining their artwork. Your challenge today: Use at least 3 layers in one of your notebooks. Try writing, highlighting, and sketching each on a separate layer — then toggle them and see how much cleaner and more powerful your pages feel. If you already use layers, drop a tip below 👇 If you’ve never touched them, this is your sign to start.

recently moved my mom into memory care form my childhood home (and her home for 50 years), did a scan of the overall layout of the apartment imported it as a layer. Measured walls, window and door openings, etc. on a seperate layer, added in furniture dimensions - complete with "drawings"on two separate layers for possibilities. for a total of 4 on that notebook. Appreciated the ability to turn off and on various layers as we decided what firniture to move and what needed to be donated to charity.

I just tried again and everything works fine thanks, @Jason Smith ! Not sure what magic you guys worked, but it is much appreciated :)
I think I broke my planner . . .
I was trying to add additional pages after the Summary page I added after each day. (try9ing to add and additional page for a particular day. Now I don't ahve an "August 26" day - IO can see it in the week view, and it is still pon the month calendar (with a day-long event on it) but I can't select the actual day planner . . .has this happened To anyone else? Is there a fix?

built a new planner, added two summary pages 😉 and pushed it to my RM. IT. WORKS. GREAT! (And it has a 26th of August!)
Nice job!
I have been "away" for a bit, but just downloaded the latest version, and am synching with my Google calendar! I realize some of you likely have done this immediately, but I was on the "struggle bus" for a. bit (shout out to @Jason Smith who patiently spent a Saturday afternoon (or two :)) with me via chat messages - but I still had problems. I discovered today that some of my events from Google were actually copies from a bridge application that was drawing from several sources calendars and creating another layer of complication that I was able to work through and didn't even need to bug Jason! :)
🐣 Happy Easter, everyone! 🌸
Today’s a reminder of fresh starts, new energy, and the power of growth — both in life and in what we’re building together here. Whether you’re spending the day with family, relaxing, or just taking a moment for yourself… enjoy it. You’ve earned it. And a small reminder we try to live by here — treat people the way you’d want to be treated. It goes a long way, especially in a community like this. We’re grateful for all of you — the conversations, the support, and the journey we’re building together. Big things are coming… and we’re just getting started. Drop a 🐰 below if you’re here and celebrating in your own way. — Jason
