Practicing Being Seen
Sharing my first "thought leader" post lol but this was on my mind so I had to 😆 I saw an analogy recently that really stuck with me: Starting content is exactly like joining a gym. We often talk about "building the content muscle," but there’s another part of the gym analogy that gets overlooked: The feeling of walking through the front door and being "seen". When you first go to the gym, that walk from your car to the entrance feels longer than it actually is. You’re aware of yourself in a way you normally aren’t. You assume everyone inside knows you’re new. You think they’re watching. Judging. Noticing everything. They’re not. But it feels like they are. That exact feeling is what stops most people from posting or going live. Making content is the PRACTICE of being seen and dealing with the FEELINGS that come up when you are. If you feel nervous every time you hit "record," that’s normal. You aren't just learning to edit or speak; you’re training your brain to be comfortable in the spotlight. But just like the gym, the more you walk through that door, the more normal it feels. And I can't tell you how much confidence making content has given me in my actual real life. (Especially as an introvert) Does the idea of being "seen" make you feel nervous?

@Eric Howell I used to have more of an issue… but I think having 7 crazies and trying to grocery shop and get everything I needed and make sure all 7 were always with me broke me of it 🤪🤷🏻‍♀️

@Ryan Carnohan biz expense tax write off… doesn’t have to be something fancy or even something like a go pro or something that doubles as a way to record fun things you do for broll too?

What's your hot take?
I've found the best way to grow a social following is to talk about something polarizing in your industry. Not "rage bait" but being contrarian. This makes people REALLY love you or the opposite 😬 But it actually gets you followers/members faster because you are saying the thing that they are too scared to say. And fair warning, the haters might come out in full force and boost the algorithm with their comments too. So what's your hot take in your niche/industry? Something that most people might disagree with but you believe it with your whole chest.

Templates and copy/paste strategies aren’t going to get you a soul aligned biz working with folks you love working with 😅 You didn’t come here to play small and fit in the box the world tried to stuff you into from childhood 🤪 If thy aren’t paying your bills or someone in a place you want to be in in the future, they don’t deserve the energy you give them in your brain worrying what they think 🤷🏻‍♀️ Your authentic story and voice is what’s going to attract your ideal client, not the polished fluff perfection or ai slop your brain is trying to get you to use because everyone else is using it. That “easy” button might cost you more in the long run than you think 😬 and will likely keep you stuck in the comfy misery instead of growing into the human that can hold that dream you heart has. More isn’t always better. Hustling is a quick way to do, do, do all over yourself and end up in an overwhelm mess. It’s the unseen small things that compound and lead to mountains being moved. That’s all off the top of my neurospicy for now 😝🤣😇
