Mentoring Done Different!
Too many people are still being “mentored” the old way… - Across a desk. - In formal suits. - With Painful Powerpoint, Excel charts and classroom slides. - By someone on a day rate, who’s had a safe corporate career… - or worse a Franchised mentoring company by someone who's an 'expert' cos they spent a week on a training course 😂 🤣 - Never built anything from scratch. - Never had sleepless nights becaise of cash shortage - Never exited a business. - Never succeeded without a big brand or big team behind them. And even worse - some have only ever gone bust. So what are they really qualified to teach you? How to fail? Here’s the truth: - Unless someone has lived both ends of the spectrum ....success and failure, they cannot truly guide you through it. Would you let a brain surgeon operate on you just because he’s killed a few patients and “learned from it”???? ....Or would you want the surgeon with a long track record of successful outcomes? Exactly. Yet most people never check their mentor’s success rate. It’s madness. As a certified behavioural profiler, an Honorary Doctor of Education, and someone who has built, scaled, and exited businesses across multiple markets and sectors: from startups to multi-billion-pound enterprises, I can tell you this: - the coaching you need for Sunday league is very different to the coaching you need for the Premier League. Yet most “mentors” just repeat the same old playbook. Repetitious rubbish. So here’s the challenge: Next time you’re speaking with your mentor (or about to choose one), ask yourself these questions: - Have they ever built and exited a business? - Have they succeeded without relying on a massive brand or team? - Do they understand both success and failure from lived experience? - Can they adapt their approach to where you are right now? If the answer is “no”, then maybe it’s time to rethink who you’re learning from. Check their credibility. Check mine too. And if you want to explore why thousands of businesses have come to me, and why I’m mentoring 30–50 companies at any one time, I’m happy to have an honest conversation.

Whats your answer to those who aren't yet in the affordability category to get out of it? Most people who need 1-2-1 simply can't afford it so where do they learn, if they have leaned all there is under the self help section but with economic times or just in the new venture era how do you get there?
