Excited to learn hand embroidery
I was excited to see that my leveling up opened the Hand Embroidery class videos. THANK YOU!!! I have been wanting to learn the basics for ONE reason. I am making English Paper Pieced hexagons for a quilt and I saw a picture of the pattern I want to use and it has hand embroidered vines and flowers. It’s definitely a “long haul” project but I am loving the slow and steady zen of it.

I'm new to embroidery. What do you use to get the design onto the fabric?

@Janet Eddy thank you! That seems a lot easier than what I was thinking I'd have to do.
Introduce Yourself!
Welcome to Your Sewing & Handwork School--we're so glad you're here. Take a moment to introduce yourself in the comments below. You can share as much or as little as you'd like, but here are a few prompts to get you started: - What's your name and where are you joining from? - Which crafts do you enjoy (sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting...or all of the above)? - What are you currently working on--or hoping to learn? - what drew you to handwork or this community? This is a friendly, encouraging space, so feel free to jump in, say hello, and connect. You never know who you might inspire--or become friends with.

Hi, I'm Sarah from Georgia. I first started with knitting when I was pregnant with my oldest (now 15), added needle felting about a decade later, and just started embroidery this month. I'm currently working on my first embroidery project and just have a little bit more to go. I joined this community to stay motivated to take time for my crafting hobbies.
April Challenge
Happy April! Here's your challenge for this month: try something new this month. Learn a new stitch, use a new tool, learn a new technique, etc. what will you try this month that you haven't done before?

I'm a current Pre-K teacher and mom of 4. I enjoy adding new hobbies (particularly related to crafts).
