June Challenge
For the June challenge, I want us to do something that will help us feel more like a community! So here it is: The June challenge is to make a friend here in our community. You can post in the main chat to find someone with similar interests, or choose a member and privately send them a message! Post here the member you got to know, and tell us something about them!

@Kelley Phelan Hello Kelley, Please add me to the friend list. I like to quilt and sew. I don't make much clothing anymore. I would like to add embroidery to clothing tho. So many ideas and this group is so inspiring.

@Frances Correa I do both. I do plain quilting and plain embroidery. And combine both into a quilt also
May Challenge - Finish Something
Hi everyone, welcome to the May challenge. This month the challenge is to dig out your UFO's (UnFinished Objects) and finish something this month! I think we all need to have this goal once in a while. Post below your plans for what you will finish this month!

I am determined to quilt a panel I bought for practice free motion quilting... Time 8 hours, maybe? Still learning the process.
Introduce Yourself!
Welcome to Your Sewing & Handwork School--we're so glad you're here. Take a moment to introduce yourself in the comments below. You can share as much or as little as you'd like, but here are a few prompts to get you started: - What's your name and where are you joining from? - Which crafts do you enjoy (sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting...or all of the above)? - What are you currently working on--or hoping to learn? - what drew you to handwork or this community? This is a friendly, encouraging space, so feel free to jump in, say hello, and connect. You never know who you might inspire--or become friends with.

Hello! Janet Eddy here from Nevada. 1 hour outside Vegas. I am looking forward to seeing everyone's creations. I knit, sewing, quilt, embroidery including counted crossastitch. Today I am working on free motion quilting an English paper pieced double wedding quilt.

It is done! It is relaxing. This was a 2 year commitment but it was very portable as a take along project.

Any YouTube Recommendations?
I want to get better at hand embroidery. Does anyone know of any YouTube channels that show hand embroidery?

I just do a search of the videos. I recently searched stumpwork and decided I wanted to try it. I can't remember any one designer but I got lots of ideas!

@Frances Correa I'll let you know if I find one. Do you want ones where they speak or just action? Watching Marisa_Embroidery on You Tube now. No talking just action so far.
