What are you gonna do with all those leads?
If you don't have to worry about leads, congratulations! Having enough calls is a big deal, whether it's through word of mouth, DIY marketing hacks, or you just hired a professional to help get you the exposure you need. Typically, the next problem home service companies need to solve is inefficiencies in tracking leads and jobs. Post-it notes and spreadsheets won't work forever. If you have enough money coming in, it's time to play the game like a real company. That means getting a CRM. That stands for customer relationship manager. And once you get it set up, it is so much easier to keep track of where you and your team needs to be, what needs followed up, and what's been completed. Not to mention they can simplify billing and integrates with financing options to help you win more business. That's why I recommend Housecall Pro. Don't ever close the door after a job is done. Stay in touch and stay top of mind. CRM's make that process alot easier.
The #1 reason your company isn't growing
Word of mouth is a great place to start, but it's not the be-all-end-all of small business growth. I can't tell you how many times somebody told me their whole business died because word of mouth dried up. You should be doing one of the following every single day: - 100 minutes calling people you know - 100 minutes cold calling - 100 minutes creating content - $100 on ads If you're not doing at least one of those, you need to start. And if you're following that advice and your business still isn't growing, either: - Your offer sucks - Your execution sucks (get better at whatever it is you're trying to do or pay somebody to do it for you) No excuses. Thanks to Alex Hormozi for that nugget of wisdom!

I hate seeing great local contractors brush off their digital reputation. Their social media is stale, their Google Business Profile incomplete, and reviews, if any, are ignored. A little care and feeding with content goes a long way.
Why websites are a terrible investment
Websites are great for converting existing traffic and building a reputation as a reputable company. But they're a really terrible place to start. Whether it's through a social media page, a Google profile, or even a paid lead site like Angi, get an audience first, build the website second. Do you know anyone who started a business and immediately decided they needed a website without building their audience first?

I agree. Establish an audience first. Focus on building your audience with social media and Google Business Profile. These platforms will give you alot of insight into who your customers are, where they are, and what services they need. Use photos to tell stories about your work, write posts your customers can relate to, and tag locations to build a community. Analyze what they are responding to. Then build a website.
