Hi everyone!
Not actually my first time here, but since its my first post lets just pretend. ๐Ÿ˜… Well i found this amazing community thanks to one of @Patrick Spiegel YouTube videos (shoutout to him!) and here I am finally joining the conversation instead of simply being a stalker. So, about me: My love story with website development started back in 2014 during my long high school vacation. Honestly I was just bored but little did I know that boredom would turn into a career! My first "hack" was revealing my brothers Facebook password by inspecting the password element on the browser. ๐Ÿ˜‚ That moment felt like I had uncovered the secrets of the universe. My brother didnโ€™t think it was funny but I sure did! Fast forward to 2018, I got my first client and earned $380. That felt like winning the lottery back then especially in India where the average salary was around $100. From there,I kept experimenting , building websites and consulting for small businesses in my college days. In 2020, COVID turned my side hustle into a fulltime gig. By 2023, I was feeling bold (maybe too bold) and decided to start my own agency, Appvent. My first big project was with Ribbons and Balloons, Indiaโ€™s largest bakery chain, for $5,000. I was so excited! But, plot twist: internal office politics got in the way, and I lost the project. That heartbreak felt worse than being ghosted by a crush! ๐Ÿ’” Thankfully, I bounced back. My next client was in the pharmaceutical industry, and I landed a $10,588 project. This time, I made sure not to let any middlemen mess things up. From there, things picked up, and I didnโ€™t look back. But in 2024, things slowed down, and I realized I needed to step up my game. So here I am, ready to learn, laugh, and grow with all of you. Letโ€™s make magic happen! Canโ€™t wait to hear from you guys. If nothing else, at least tell me my brotherโ€™s Facebook password story wasnโ€™t entirely useless. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hey @Adam Saltarelli i love the app design! are you using figma for designing? just wondering. one suggestion i have is to align the logo to the center & make it slightly bigger. this could help give the app more visibility as a brand or company. great work overall!
How Do You Guys Manage the 'Go Live' and Deployment Process?
going live with a project is one of the most exciting and scary things that can happen in web projects! deploying a project has its own unique set of challenges whether a personal project or a team effort 1. how do you ensure that there is smooth navigation during deployment? 2. what tools or platforms do you prefer for hosting and domain management? 3. do you follow any checklist before going live so you don't have surprises?

๐Ÿค” Niche vs No Niche (Your Most Important Decision)
Should you niche down and possibly limit yourself from getting more clients, or should you be a generalist and not be perceived as an expert in any field? This is the first and arguably the most important decision you'll make for your web design business. The one thing you should NEVER do is be a complete generalist. Meaning offering any type of web design service to any type of business with any tool. - You wouldn't bring your Ferrari to a general mechanic who works on Fords or Toyotas) Not only will you overwhelm yourself but you'll be fighting for low paying clients. A niche doesn't have to mean "Dentists" or "Roofing Companies". It can also mean being a "Webflow Expert" which would be the tool you use. Or it can be "Highly Converting Landing Pages" which would be the service. But niching down in any way will be VITAL to charging more for your service as (and this is important), you'll be able to offer more VALUE to your clients! With that in mind I would love to know ๐Ÿ‘‡ (tell me in the comments) 1๏ธโƒฃ What niche have you chosen 2๏ธโƒฃ Why did you choose that niche P.S. If you're struggling to choose a niche let me know in the comments and I'll try and help you! P.P.S I'll be covering Niches in more detail in the FULL MINI COURSE releasing next week on YouTube with a complete Step-By-Step Document! P.P.P.S You can also check out this video where I go over how you can find your ideal Niche: #4. Niche Selection

Hi @Patrick Spiegel , Wow i thank you for this post-it really turned my thinking around! i always thought that niching down had to do with the company or industry one worked with but your explanation made me realize it could also revolve around specialization in a certain service or tool it is shocking to say that i have actually been following this idea without realizing it! Hereโ€™s my story once i had booked a physio session over the phone and before confirming the appointment physiotherapist asked me for a convenient date n then checked her physical schedule book. i simply thought what if she had some system through which she could send me a link n i could book the slot myself? i shared that with her and she was very impressed! and here is the good part this little suggestion got me 20 or 25 referrals from other physiotherapists they loved the idea to now that i look back i realize that i was not just offering web design i was solving a specific problem for a specific audience. this post really helped me find ways to better position myself. thank you for sharing this eyeopener and i shall not wait to get into your mini course for more understanding
Do You Always Use a Contract for Web Design Projects? Why or Why Not?
sometimes, we end up so overwhelmed by the joy of landing a new client that we think it is okay not to put matters into a contract at times, fearing it could scare them away or delay the project. But believe me, some of the projects should be joined and started to be done without the signing of a contract - it's just like adding pineapple and ketchup on my pizza. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ™ƒ Well, it may look okay in the beginning. But later, confusion about the scope, late payments, or infinite revisions could bring you to the point where you wish you would have had a proper agreement. Contracts guard you both-the client and you. So from now on, I never start a job without a contract it is something really important just like real toppings on a pizza! ๐Ÿ˜‚

For sure @Rowela Comandante! An agreement is like a superhero cape without it you are just waiting for the next infinite revision villain to strike while you toil with a million ideas you have about web designing. Mental health is everything now and boundaries too! ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™€๏ธ
