Texture Play 🤍
This is where the machine really earns its place. Tuck stitch, slip stitch, welt patterns — textures that would take hours by hand but flow naturally on the machine, building up those beautiful raised surfaces almost without you noticing. A single stitch pattern can transform plain yarn into something that looks considered and complex, even when the process is anything but. Texture is also wonderfully forgiving. It hides minor tension inconsistencies, it works beautifully in one colour, and it photographs like a dream. Have you experimented with texture on your machine yet? If you're still mostly knitting stocking stitch, this might be the week to dig out your pattern book and try just one repeat on a swatch. You might surprise yourself.
