For tonight’s session, you’ll be doing a short Dragon’s Den style pitch. You’ll have 2 minutes to explain one real thing: - a service - a product - a skill you want to monetise - or a simple idea you’ve thought about before This is not about impressing anyone. It's about speaking clearly when you’re being watched. Structure to follow: The problem - Who has the problem. - Why it’s frustrating. - Why it’s not being solved properly. The solution - What you’ve built or what you offer - Explain it simply (no over-explaining) The outcome (what changes for the person) - Less stress - More clarity - More confidence - Time saved. Yesterday I was at a big tech/gaming/culture event and I went there because I have a big interest for gaming and tech in general. I've always struggled to understand how to network with people, or how to connect with people in general. But I took Dino's advice of going to places where I will find people that share similar interests. It worked out great! I went up to random people that seemed interesting and just said what I had in my mind and didn't overthink that much. One of the guys had developed a game by himself and I got to try it out, it was great. It wasn't awkward, it didn't feel odd, it felt like I was chatting to people I already knew. I went up with curiosity and asked him without hesitation "Hey, cool game! Are you the developer?" and from there it lead to an interesting conversation about his journey as a solo developer and his passion for creating games and applications. We talked for half an hour roughly and exchanged Linkedin's. This was also my opportunity to try some of the advice Dino mentioned in his videos, such as ending a conversation by using the environment around me. It worked out nicely!! I don't have a point with this post, I just wanted to share and think out loud for a moment about yesterday because it was a really nice event and I met a lot of cool people.
