Day 25 - Lyon
What a delightful day of mini training sessions we have had. It's been a busy work day as well so I am feeling very accomplished 😇 Morning session outside - I asked for some basic heel and retrieve and he struggled to do any of it. Hormones starting to get in a muddle I think. Next session - a retrieve exercise indoors with heel and front on a platform. So fun. Next session - took those exercises outdoors at the start of our walk and he nailed them. Walked for about 30 mins and did another 3 mini sessions one of which was side steps. He did well it's been a fun, cloudy, drizzly day - we were both made for Scotlands usual weather ⛅️⛈️🌧🌦☁️ you can keep your blazing sunshine 🌞 🤣

Day 22 & 23 - Lyon and side step.
Hot hot hot the last 2 days and no way to escape it. Yesterday was a write off but today has been cooler so we got to play outside in the shade. @Fiona Austin here's where we are at with side step. We've done about 5 sessions over 4 days. I'm cautious about doing too many sessions but perhaps I'm being over cautious, what do you think? I'm just randomly dispensing the food, is the aim for him to follow my hand rather than learn the steps independently?

@Fiona Austin I experimented today and my starting point is that he is absolutely going to throw himself up and down them, with a side of choking himself if I do collar and lead. So harness and lead it will need to be and I think given how steep the stairs are and how often he needs out to pee I will carry some of the time for convenience. Thank you for helping me work that out.

@Fiona Austin also for the exercises. We do daily sit stands and downs, I suspect that's where the muscle has come from. I will continue and with the side step which he is finding entertaining.
Day 40- nature sniffs, obedience, conditioning
Following my planner, this morning we found 3 interesting things to sniff on our walk. Dogs sniffed and I watched haha. I drew the line at fish carcass that got confiscated 🙈 Lunch time obedience was heel position and first steps of heel. PM- Conditioning program for Frank including side steps. With little Oreo I worked on stand, back leg and front leg targets and backing up. His leg seems better which is great. Hope everyone are having a good week 🙌 PS: I accidentally posted day 38 to our face to face class group. They would have been wondering what I’m on about 🤣

@Ave Paasuke I so appreciate your videos 🥰
Day 24 - Lyon
This week has been draining with the unusual temps. I haven't done any official training again but Lyon joined me and my niece on a walk which was a lovely test of his ability to stay connected without input. He got 10/10 for that. We went to a Cafe for lunch after. I would usually leave dog in the car but I had to bring him in because there was no shade. It was less training and more of an expectation of behaviour. "Short lead, sit there, no mucking around" on the whole he was good but he is bad for lead biting in those types of situations.🙄 he seems to have turned lead biting, and my constant removal of the lead from his mouth, or angling the lead so he can't get it. into a game. I never give up but neither does he. Anyway he was OK, there were moments of calm but on the whole it was an exciting experience for him.

@Ave Paasuke I was just going on the assumption he will grow out of it? He does it less in class now than he did at the beginning. I also sometimes shove a toy in his mouth sometimes that works and sometimes it does not. He only does it when he is very excited and doesn't want to be confined. So barrier frustration? Me wrestling the lead from him definitely doesn't help his excitement levels but as it's freedom he wants rather than attention maybe that's ok? If you figure it out I'd pay you to share the secret.
Day 39 - side steps and Rally
Worked some more side steps. Such a happy little tails haha. Added forward and back movement for Frank. I used to do the box move heaps as a warm up for hoopers. Lunch time we trained some Rally signs. I am also not a big fan of AI but Jo Rosie shared her training planner prompts in her group so I just had to make one! It’s beautiful and so useful to keep us on track! 🤩 First video has a bark warning! Frank having fomo this time 🙈

The box thing is cool, I really like it when there is a pattern like that. Frank is obviously a pro. 🤩 I have used AI when writing to organise my grammar and spelling. I'm horrible at those things and quite happy to out source it. I haven't used it much to create and this looks like a really cool use of the tool. I do not love how it's "voice" is all through social media. It's not this, it's that.... And honestly..... I would like to learn a bit more about how to prompt it for creating. I did have to learn about the settings so I could change how it interacts with me. I enjoyed how it told me I was brilliant at the beginning but that got old fast!!!
