Getting dragged off the mats for two weeks because you refused to modify one round? I’m getting better at responding when something starts talking instead of waiting until it starts screaming. What’s your version of “I probably should’ve listened earlier”?
What other forms of activity exist in your life outside of jiu-jitsu? Other sports? Strength training? Hiking or walking? Activities with the kids? Or does BJJ take everything you have and leave nothing for anything else? 😂 What else keeps you active outside of the mats?
Initially yes, sucked the life out of me, it was really hard to sustain. But over time I tried to regulate my output better, I’m still working on it, so I’ve gone back to lifting weights and Running.
Be honest. An injury? Getting sick? A competition? Family or work? Or would someone practically have to lock the gym doors? 😂 For a lot of us, taking a full week off feels harder than training through whatever is bothering us. What would actually have to happen for you to voluntarily take at least one full week away from the mats?
Be honest. Everyone's dealing with something right now. Could be a nagging tweak, an old injury that flares up, or something you're actively rehabbing. What's the injury you're dealing with right now, and how are you managing it? 👊
Not what you're good at. Not your A-game. One move, position, or submission that doesn't come naturally, but you know deep down you need to put reps into. What is it? 👊
