Leucovorin supplement
Hello! I was curious about thoughts on this, has anyone tried it, have you heard of it? We are going to start seeing a wholistic pediatric practitioner, as Adam has had some gut issues for as long as we can remember. I don’t know much about it, but my wife will be able to give me the run down:) Thoughts from anyone?

I tried it for my son, but a low dose and it created havoc inside him- I learnt the hard way šŸ˜…

it's best to see the functional practitioner and get some labs done- stool and oat testing is what we did to uncover his gut issues. It's likely unique for each child
The biggest behavior shift
Didn’t have to do with my child, it had to do with my beliefs about behavior. This is a hard one for us adults because we are WIRED that kids should behave, it’s disrespectful if they don’t, they need to learn and have a consequence, if I give in I’m reinforcing the behavior. We have our triggers and that’s ok, yesterday I had mine…. When you don’t lean into YOUR triggers and solely focus on the child, you’re missing a HUGE piece. One step to do this week… listen to your inner voice. When your child engages in a behavior, stop and listen… what is your inner voice telling you? Let me know if the comments.

my inner voice is trying to analyse what caused that behaviour. recently my son started throwing a lot of items he shouldn't be and found it funny and as frustrating as it was, all I could think is what's the sensory need he is trying to fulfill. I went out and bought foam balls for him to throw and after encouraging throwing them at magna tiles etc he suddenly stops doing it šŸ˜…

Hassan is great with foods. we did send a snack, but perhaps he was hungry before his snack time and could not communicate this. I was wondering if it's worth asking the preschool to make a picture board with his common snack items so he can show them which he wants. ooh, I will go look for this video now! I've loved the videos I've watched today already, thank you

@Katie Lents thank you so much, great ideas to take on board. at home it's clear as he leads me to the refrigerator to pick out his snack and chooses it. However, I imagine there is no refrigerator visible at preschool so we needed another system! thanks!
Happy Valentines Day
What is one way your child shows love toward you? Sometimes this can be hard bc what you once imagined it looking like, may not necessarily look that way, but seeing the ways they do love is so so importantšŸ’˜

Hassan gives tight squeezes and puts his cheek out for me to kiss him. when he thinks I'm upset he puckers his lips to give me a kiss and checks that I'm 'happy' before walking away. I'll never take his love for granted 🄰

@Katie Lents I love this! he does sometimes say "squeeze" when I give him a tight squeeze 🄰 I will remember to expand it this way! thanks!!

Hi I'm Sabha, my little boy is Hassan age 4.5. we are awaiting an autism diagnosis (very difficult to get before the age of 5 here in the uk). which also means we get little to no support, no speech therapy, ABA etc. Hassan is non verbal and does not have much functional play. He has recently shown interest in books and will look st them so carefully. he also enjoys 'mixing food' he calls it as he helps me cook. Hassan is a gestalt language processor but we experience words or recently phrases and then may not hear them again for a while. 'mixing foods' is his first phrase used in context and I'm a proud mama. Hassan is a foodie, and sensory seeker- especially movement and pressure related. Hassan doesn't like loud overstimulating environments. I enjoy intensive interactions with hassan and copy his stimming. He is so so affectionate. I'd love to find ways to increase focus in Hassan and help bring on his speech
