Health and perfume
Hey gents, Do you ever consider the potential of endocrine/hormone disrupting compounds found in perfumes? We understand how certain chemicals like parabens and phthalates found in personal care products disrupt the endocrine system. But in perfume Its kind of tricky for me as they usually have a complex fragrance mixture. Possibly not all ingredients labeled, and if they are they could be grouped under “fragrance/parfum”. Even then who will actually read and research before purchase or use. Not suggesting perfume itself is necessarily harmful. But as men we understand health comes first. So im more interested in how you guys optimize for health by minimizing unnecessary exposure while still enjoying fragrances. I sometimes just spray on my clothing, maybe arms and avoid the neck. I feel more confident with Roll ons / attars on the neck, although im not sure wether oil based fragrances are actually any safer than sprays. What are your thoughts on this? Do you have any advice or tips?

Back to basics: Fresh / Aquatic / Aromatic Fougere for the win?
Hey gents As its summer and very hot here in the middle east Wearing this Versace Man EDT a fresh aquatic scent. Crisp lemon opening! It made me think about how much i enjoy wearing this Aquatic and fresh type of fragrance more than any other category. I understand the heat and humidity is influencing me quite a bit! But I wanted to share with you to get your thoughts and maybe explore further; do you believe ultimately at the core of every man he desires that clean, easy wear and crisp freshness that is masculine and just feels right? if all men had to vote on wearing only ONE fragrance family/ category. Which one do you guys believe will be the most desired?? It could be that im just getting lazy or my nose is tired from the over stimulation of all these complex notes and depth with all the fragrance categories. Could be “maturity “ phase . In the past I went through a phase where i mostly desired sweet fragrances. anyone can relate or gone through such phases? Final take on this. I always viewed Creed Aventus as overhyped basic fresh citrus. But with all the mentioned above, I appreciate it more and understand why lots of men are drawn to that scent. Maybe thats all a man desires for himself after all. I will now venture into more traditional barbershop style fragrances. Aromatic Fougere? Hope to find my signature scent in that category... any suggestions here are welcome.

Initio Parfums new 2026 Supercharged Collection
Interesting functional fragrances release, they are designed “to stimulate brain reward system” What do you guys think about this concept? Marketing gimmick to increase price or real scientific effect. Either way does the consumer really care? Still didnt find them in stores like Sephora. Anyone tried them yet? What is your feedback on scent / effects? They have 2 fragrances here is a brief on them with link to their website with full description https://ae.initioparfums.com 1)Wild Rush: Infused with the JOYDROP complex, it activates the brain’s reward pathways, transforming scent into a measurable expression of energy, confidence, and aliveness. An aromatic fougère with notes of bergamot, red berries, caramel, lavender, and patchouli. 3)Sugar Blast: generating a measurable surge of pleasure, indulgence, and addictive joy. An ambery gourmand featuring vanilla, rum, praline, and coconut.

@Raymond Reeves not really. Antonio is making association / pattern recognition to trigger behavior (if i understand correctly) Initio are claiming ingredients used to combine perfumery with neuroscience. (the house formalized a partnership with dsm-firmenich, one of the leading suppliers of fragrance ingredients, to deepen research into the interactions between olfactory molecules and emotions.) “customers are invited to wear an electroencephalography (EEG) headband fitted with sensors that record their brain activity during the discovery session. The brainwaves captured are analyzed, revealing unconscious preferences and the degree of well-being elicited by a fragrance “
Review and SOTD - Absolu Aventus by Creed
A woody, smoky pineapple with a spicier, sweeter twist on the OG. It has grapefruit, bergamot, pink pepper, pineapple, nutmeg, and cloves giving it a smooth citrus punch with warming spices. In the heart is ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and rose adding a spicy edge. And in the base it has patchouli, Haitian vetiver, oakmoss, ambroxan, sandalwood, and tonka. It keeps Aventus’s pineapple DNA but adds some sweetness, spices and smoke. It’s not as harsh; more mature, warm, and distinguished than the OG Aventus. It’s a strong performer. 8+ hours longevity with good sillage. It can be worn year round and is fairly versatile. This is a favorite of mine and I highly recommend it.

Initio Sugar Blast Quick First Impression
Upon first spray, this fragrance comes off as sweet and addictive, instantly evoking a creamy vanilla and praline vibe. The subtle hint of rum adds a touch of boozy warmth, while the lavender note prevents it from becoming overly dessert like. In my opinion, this scent is remarkably similar to Billie Eilish and Lattafa Nebras, but with a cashmeran twist that enhances its smoothness, softness, and a hint of “fuzziness” and sophistication. It’s akin to enveloping that sweet vanilla profile in a warm, cozy sweater. As the fragrance settles, the ambroxan and woods introduce a slightly musky and airy lift, ensuring that it doesn’t feel overly heavy, even though it leans towards the gourmand side. Overall, this fragrance is a delightful blend of sweet, cozy, and slightly boozy vanilla, with a soft cashmere feel. It shares familiar DNA with other fragrances, but it offers a refined and textured experience. It does lean more feminine but still with in the unisex ground.
