🌲 Wilderness Challenge: The Barefoot Log Carry Today I tested myself in a different way: barefoot, carrying a heavy log through rough ground. No shoes. No padding. Just me, the earth, and the weight of that wood digging into my shoulders. Why? Because the Stoics practiced voluntary discomfort. They knew that by seeking out hardship in controlled ways, they built resilience for when life brought real trials. Carrying that log wasn’t just about strength—it was about: ⚖️ Balance (every step careful on sticks and stones) 💥 Endurance (the log grows heavier the longer you walk) 🧠 Mental toughness (resisting the urge to quit when pain shows up) It reminded me that growth doesn’t come from comfort. Sometimes it takes stripping things back—like walking barefoot—to wake up the body and sharpen the mind. 👉 Would you ever try something like this? 👉 What’s your version of a “barefoot log carry” in daily life?

Intro
Hello, my name is Eskil. I am an 18 year old boy from Norway. My big challenge is that I was in a close to fatal accident and got a brain injury. Stoicism though has thought me invaluable lessons. Stoicism is a philosophy that has help me and many to get through hard things. You really start to accept and embrace reality with it.

Brother thanks for sharing. Love that you have been learning and leaning on Stoicism. Not sure if you have the ability and opportunity to get out in the wilds or even in a forest but being out in nature and eventually deep in the wilderness is the second piece it can have similar effects to stoicism on a man's life and doing both doubles the effect. Hence why im leaning hard into combining them as there is a natural pairing to them. Glad you joined, brother. Welcome!!!
