🌲 Wilderness Challenge: The Barefoot Log Carry
Today I tested myself in a different way: barefoot, carrying a heavy log through rough ground.
No shoes. No padding. Just me, the earth, and the weight of that wood digging into my shoulders.
Why? Because the Stoics practiced voluntary discomfort. They knew that by seeking out hardship in controlled ways, they built resilience for when life brought real trials.
Carrying that log wasn’t just about strength—it was about:
⚖️ Balance (every step careful on sticks and stones)
💥 Endurance (the log grows heavier the longer you walk)
🧠 Mental toughness (resisting the urge to quit when pain shows up)
It reminded me that growth doesn’t come from comfort. Sometimes it takes stripping things back—like walking barefoot—to wake up the body and sharpen the mind.
