Acts of Random Kindness
Acts of Random Kindness June 29, 2007 By Bear Warrior Gonzales What if changing the world didn’t require wealth, power, or fame? What if the power to change the world was already in your hands hidden in the simple act of kindness? Tonight, I took my fiancée out on our regular Friday night date. First, we picked up my paycheck and cashed it, and then we went out to dinner. After dinner we went to the movies and watched the film Evan Almighty. In the movie, Evan runs for Congress under the campaign slogan “Change the World.” He wins the election, and suddenly, his whole world begins to change. Then God, played by Morgan Freeman, appears in his life and asks him, “You want to change the world, right?” Evan answers yes. God then tells him the way to change the world is by practicing Acts of Random Kindness, one act at a time. That idea made me stop and think. Changing the world doesn’t begin with massive movements or grand speeches. It begins with something much simpler one act of kindness at a time. And it doesn’t stop after one act. It becomes a way of living. It becomes a part of your daily life. In the movie, Evan’s wife almost leaves him because of the changes happening in his life. That part made me think even deeper. Many people are afraid of change, and sometimes, they walk away when they see it happening. I remember when I began changing in my own life. People were afraid of me because of my reputation. They believed that if they disrespected me or someone I loved, they would pay a heavy price. I was filled with anger, hatred, and violent rage. When I began to change, something interesting happened. Some people started mistaking my kindness for weakness. Others tried to take advantage of it. I had to show them something important: Kindness is not weakness. Kindness is strength under control. When you begin practicing acts of random kindness regularly, some people will misunderstand you. Some will try to take advantage of you. But that’s okay. We live in a world where many people look at life only for what they can get out of it, a world where the “dog-eat-dog” mentality is common. But if you practice acts of random kindness with a pure heart without seeking gain, recognition, or approval, you will be blessed, and you will help change this world.

Yes to these changes!! Very inspiring @Bear Gonzales
Coherence comes before clarity
Many writers believe that clarity of thought comes with the more they write, so they push themselves to write. In reality, settling the nervous system comes first. Deep breaths steady the internal rhythm, and the external environment becomes coherent. Then ideas begin to organize themselves, and the words become easier to access because the mind is no longer scattered. This is why we begin by establishing coherence inside our writing sessions. From coherence, listening becomes possible. And from listening, language begins to form. If you'd like to experience that shift, you’re welcome to join our Wednesday co-writing session.

Clock Sprung Forward
Most of the world’s clocks sprang forward today, and my province, British Columbia, has changed its clocks for the last time. It's been a long time coming, though it would be better if it were during the winter solstice. That would better align with our circadian rhythm, which is mostly set by light and darkness. We'll be facing sunrise at 9:00 am in Southern BC and 9:30 am in the North. At least we'll be on the same time as the Yukon, but come winter, we'll be on a different time than California and other Western States. Oh, life continues to get interesting. Thoughts?

I was thinking about this today too @Pamela Lynch and how it illustrates how silly time can be as a concept like @Rebecca B mentioned. Now when I say a certain time Pacific I’ll need to specify if it’s Vancouver or Seattle Pacific or Pacific Daylight or Pacific Standard. It’s all very amusing especially with my work where it would matter to people if they are working night shift and an 11, 12 or 13 hour shift when these time jumps occur.
Frequency Friday
Ever notice how easily your writing (or opportunities) comes when you are in alignment? People ask, "Well, how do I get into alignment?" I believe it happens in the pause. When the human part of us stops pushing and starts receiving guidance from the heart. Close your eyes and drop into your heart and ask (something like), "What does my higher self desire for me in this moment?" Three weeks ago, my social media mentor, Rachel Pedersen, invited us to write one-page short stories for inclusion in a new ebook. She gave us five categories (Content, Offers, etc) and challenged us to write down one topic for each category. She choose THREE of mine, and I submitted the stories yesterday. Everyone else have two entries. This is a huge win and the stories are all in alignment with my business. I feel like my frequency has shifted just being on Skool with all of you, and hanging out for the past two weeks with @James Bansbach in his Journey into the Heart of Healing series. The writing session on Wednesday was incredible, and I'm so grateful to everyone who showed up. Did you notice a shift in your frequency this week? Where did things start flowing more easily?

I was in denial that it was March. Thursday was when I started looking at my calendar and scheduling everything that was floating in my head down on paper. I know feel like I can face March even if it took me most of the first week of it.
