New Biz Foundations: First Steps
@Shauna Lindsey and I recently decided to start a new business venture together— amidst running our other business(es) and keeping up with our family responsibilities 🤪. After making the decision to go full force with this, our first steps were: 1. Leveraging AI to create a business plan for structure and alignment (reviewed, edited, and personalized TOGETHER) 2. Established NON-NEGOTIABLE weekly, standing meeting with each other to maintain momentum and accountability 3. Booked/invested in a call with our business mentor to get expert perspective on opportunities and blind spots 4. Established mission statement + core values so we ALWAYS have a guiding light for what to do and why. We’re crazy excited to get this off the ground and I want to bring you guys on this crazy journey with us! For those of you who already have an established business, what were your foundational first steps after deciding to open up shop?? ⬇️Drop your answers below! ⬇️

@Pumehana Palmer the first client made my “leap” less of a leap. Now I have a few other clients from prior connections etc.

@Shauna Lindsey I didn’t answer a question fully. I had a role in operations at one point so I knew what I needed for my back office like invoicing tools, payment tools, CRM, BI tool, etc. it was a little bit of tedious work, but knowing what I needed to do was helpful. I do still run into things that I needed on top of what I currently need and I’ll just added into my toolbox as they come.
📣 New channel alert!
It's come to my attention that we have a spectrum of entrepreneurs here in the collective! We've got members who are just starting out in their business journey (like, the ink on their LLC acceptance letter is still drying 😉) and those who are raking in multi-5 to 6-figures in revenue 🚀🤩. This new "❓Ask the Collective" channel is for you to drop all your business/mindset/systems related questions so you can get fresh perspectives from those who've been there and made it through. Regardless of where you're at in your business, what's something that's been burning a hole in your psyche right now? Make a post in this channel and see who chimes in! 🛥️ Remember, "a rising tide raises all ships."

@Michael Heckmeier Do I agree with this post? Yes, somewhat. The assumption baked into this post is two fold: - we want to chase money even post-AGI - physical goods (like food) cannot be printed by digital bits The first point, all power to you. After a certain level of security for my kids, I do not have a materialistic goal. I do have financial goals, but this is only relevant to me right now as an arbitrary destination so that I am developing and orienting my growth in the right direction. Money as we know it might not be relevant when AGI/ASI hits. Second point, might seem ridiculous to argue. However, I wouldn't throw this out of the equation. Ultra processed foods are pretty much being "printed" as we speak, and it would only be a matter of time until the commoditization of super healthy high end grass-finished wagyu beef (robotic feeding, nurturing, etc.) The "window of opportunity" until these assumptions are overturned is unclear. Years? Decades? Centuries? Millennia? not sure. For me, irrelevant. The direction I have for myself is "chase what money represents" and not "money itself." I think money arbitrarily represents the "amount of thank-yous" you've received from others. The form factor of what people thank each other for will change. 200 years ago, a horse would have been a great gift to get around town. Now, it would be a super costly pet and will be a burden rather than a gift for most. "Info on how to use AI" might be thanked today, but will be considered a scam in a few years (I regard a lot of info products already to be scammy...). We will have to be resourceful and adaptable. Sorry for the long comment again... thoughts?

@Pumehana Palmer I suppose what people garner value from, what people vote with dollars for, will evolve. Thinking out loud... I'm sure some people will choose a robo-PT over a human, but I am also sure that many people will continue to choose a human PT for the human connection. If we think of the role of the physical therapist as "the person that does the right sequence of stretching, pressuring the right points, etc." then, robo-PTs would likely do that more accurately. But the human element of understanding the biological experience of being in physical therapy might be something people pay for. I've been ruminating on the concept of good vs evil a lot these days. Philosophical/Existential topic. No conclusion drawn... All I can say right now is, I will do the best I can, for what I consider good.

@Matthew Shima I agree hahahah struggles are real.
🤓 1st Coworking/Connection session in the books!
Major shoutout to @Matthew Shima for jumping onto our Skool Live session today! It was so fun to connect and bounce ideas off of each other. I've committed to do this every week, Thursday, 9A HST, I'll hop onto a Live call here in the platform and you can join me to either, chat, connect or just co-work on mute. Apparently, the cool ADHD kids call it "body doubling." (Thanks, Matt, for blowing my mind with this 😄) Look it up! It's a fascinating strategy. See you all on the next one!

Effort is sacred, even when results betray you…
This one’s for you (notso) crazy kids who don’t have social media. This was a powerful video that helped fuel and inform my mindset about yesterday’s… mishap. 🙃 Drop your thoughts and takeaways below! Link to watch on IG: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOfo2y8DkhS/?igsh=MTFrOG5nMGJjdHhycw==

@Pumehana Palmer I thought my phone was running out of battery. Then I noticed it was yours 😂 On a more serious note, I felt this way too many times. Makes me question whether to have any expectation for any outcome at all. But at the end of the day, we just restart. Keep trying until it works out.
